SECTION 07410
METAL ROOFING
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 - Description
A. This section specifies furnishing and installing metal roofing. The extent of the metal panels is SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. The scope of work includes furnishing and installing preformed panels, valleys, hips, ridges, eave drip edging, corners, rakes, and related accessories, miscellaneous flashing and attaching devices. The work also includes the installation of underlayment.
1.2 - Related Work Specified Elsewhere

1.3 - Warranties
A. Kynar 500Finish for preformed metal roofing shall have a factory applied finish with a minimum 20 year Standard Weathertight Warranty.
1.4 - Submittals
A. Submit the manufacturer's current specifications and recommendations for installation. Include manufacturer's complete current line of available colors for selection.
B. Submit shop drawings showing roof plans, profiles, details of forming, joining trim flashing and accessories. Show details of weatherproofing at edges, terminations and penetrations of metal roofing work.
C. Warranties shall be submitted to the COR for approval with roof material submittals.
D. Work on this item shall not commence until the COR approval has been obtained for these submittals.
1.5 - Delivery, Storage and Handling
Delivery, storage and handling shall be in a manner to prevent theft, damage and deterioration. Special storage and handling requirements of the manufacturer shall be followed.
Packaged materials shall be delivered to the site in manufacturer's original, unopened, labeled containers.
Traffic shall not be allowed on completed roof. If necessary, provide cushioned walk boards.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 – Exposed Fastener Metal Roofing System
A. Roof Panels: 24 gauge R-panel with trapezodial rib on 12-inch height.centers. 1-1/4” rib
B. Finish: Kynar 500 (PVDF)

| D. | Flashing and Trim: Provide flashing and trim as required to seal against weather and to provide finished appearance. Locations include eaves, rakes, corners, bases, framed openings, ridges, fascia, and fillers. Finish flashing and trim with same finish system as adjacent metal roof panels. Formed from 24 gauge (0.023min inch nominal) (0.61 mm) or thicker, metallic-coated steel sheet. |
E. Gutters: Match profile of gable trim, complete with end pieces, outlet tubes, and other special pieces as required. Fabricate in minimum 120 inches (3048 mm) long sections, sized according to SMACNA's "Architectural Sheet Metal Manual." Furnish gutter supports spaced 36 inches (900 mm) o.c., fabricated from same metal as gutters. Finish gutters to match metal roof panels and roof fascia and rake trim.Formed from 26 gauge (0.018min inch nominal) (0.41 mm) thick, metallic-coated steel F. Downspouts: Fabricated in 10 feet (3048 mm) long sections, complete with formed elbows and offsets. Finish downspouts to match metal roof panels. Formed from 26 gauge (0.018min inch nominal) (0.41 mm) thick, metallic-coated steel sheet.
2.2- Exposed System Fasteners: Self-tapping zinc-plated, #10 x 1-1/2 inches (38 mm) hex-head carbon-steel screws, with a stainless-steel cap or zinc-aluminum-alloy head and EPDM or neoprene sealing washer.
PART 3 – EXECUTION
3.1 - Installation
A. Workmanship shall conform to standards set forth in the architectural sheet metal manual as published by Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association (SMACNA).
B. Installation shall be according to the manufacturer's guidelines.
C. Panels shall be installed in such a manner that horizontal lines are true and level and vertical lines are plumb.
D. Do not allow panels or trim to come into contact with dissimilar materials at any points of installation.
E. Apply underlayment as per Section 07130.
F. Place panels while dry and clean. Remove all foreign material promptly to avoid panel damage while installing roofing.
3.2 - Touch Ups
A. Minor scratches and abrasions may be touched up when approved by the COR. Dented or bent material shall be replaced at the Contractor's expense.
PART 4 - MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT

A. The work specified herein will not be measured.

A. This work shall be incidental to Pay Item 06131(01) – Heavy Timber Log Shelter.
