About this file
This is an addendum to a bid solicitation (Addendum #02 to BID 3061-26) issued by the New Hampshire Division of Procurement and Support Services for spreader parts, dump bodies, and plows. The addendum revises the original bid timeline, extending the deadline for questions and clarifications to September 23, 2025, with the state's responses due September 24, 2025, and the new bid closing date set for September 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time. The document also includes technical specification amendments, such as changing the pre-wet system controller requirements to accommodate both Bosch CS550 and CS660 models, modifying the spray bar assembly from 3-sequence to 2-sequence nozzles, and clarifying the crossover hose specification to 1 1/2" hose. Additionally, the addendum resolves a conveyor drive shaft diameter discrepancy by standardizing it to 2" across all specification sections.
The addendum addresses 29 vendor inquiries regarding specification compliance and design variations, with the state accepting certain alternatives while rejecting others. Notable approvals include substitutions for specific jacks, worm gearbox drives, hydraulic motors, fill caps, ball valves, tank designs, nozzle materials, and enclosure specifications where equivalent functionality is demonstrated. Conversely, the state maintains strict requirements for body sill configuration, rear panel angles, discharge gate design, screen panel specifications, and conveyor sprocket spacing, declining alternative designs in these areas. All changes documented in this addendum supersede previously submitted documents and must be included with bid submissions, while all other original specifications remain valid and enforceable.

1. Page 1, Body. The specification for the bottom sills calls to be formed outward to facilitate cleaning. The industry standard, as shown in red on attached Image 1, has the bottom long sills flange inward to create a channel style support structure. Would this design be approved as acceptable?
1.1. State response: The State will not accept this
2. Page 1 Body. The specification calls for the rear end panel to be 90deg (not sloped). Our rear end gate panel is sloped
9-degrees to help reduce undesired free flow of material out of the rear feed gate. Would the state be willing to approve our design?
2.1. State response: The State will not accept this
3. Page 1 Body. The specification calls for rear discharge chute area of body sill shall be double thickness. Would the state approve the industry standard 7ga single wall design?
3.1. State response: The State will not accept this
4. Page 1, Body. The spec calls for the discharge gate to have an added brace to resist bending. Our feed-gate door is formed on the top and bottom edge with a >90-degree bend to increase strength. (See image 2). Would our standard design be acceptable?
4.1. State response: The State will not accept this
5. Page 1, Body. The specification calls for a Canimex T2103 jack. Would the state approve our standard Canimex
182802 jack. (see image 6)
5.1. State response: The State will accept this
6. Page 1, Body. The specification calls for a six-section screen with (3) hinges ea. On a 9’ hopper, our design would use a 4-section screen panel configuration. Each screen panel has (2) heavy duty anti-seizing hinges. Would the state approve a 4-section screen assembly?
6.1. State response: The State will not accept this
7. Page 1, Body. Section screen portion of the specification states pipe or structural member to be recessed and not rest on top of sander. Our stainless attachment bracket mounted to the top edge of the spreader hopper reinforcement channel for ease of service and repair. Would the state approve our design as acceptable? (See image 3).
7.1. State response: The State will not accept this
8. Page 1, Body. The specification calls for the screen panel to lay flat in the body. Our screen design (as seen in image
3, view B-B raising the center slightly above the hopper. Would the state accept the slightly sloped design? (Approximately 2.5 degrees of slope)
8.1. State response: The State will not accept this
9. Page 1 Conveyor. The specification calls for 20” OC sprockets. Our sprockets for our 24” v-box conveyor are on
21.12” centers. Will our design be acceptable (see image 4)?
9.1. State response: The State will not accept this
10. Page 1 Conveyor. The specification calls for ¾” adjustment screws with a minimum of 6” adjustment. Would the state approve 5/8” adjustment screws? Would the state approve 4” of adjustment? Removing one link would shorten the chain 2.25” making 4” adjustment sufficient.
10.1. State response: The State will not accept this
11. Page 1 Conveyor. The specification calls for a 1-3/4” diameter drive shaft, which conflicts the 2” drive shaft noted on page 9 Conveyor Drive. Will the state revise the specification to state 2” in both bullet point sections?
11.1. State response: The state will amend the specifications as follows.
Currently reads:
For standardization purposes, the distance between conveyor shaft drive sprockets shall be 20” O.C. and the conveyor drive shaft shall be 1-3/4” diameter.
Amend to read:
For standardization purposes, the distance between conveyor shaft drive sprockets shall be 20” O.C. and the conveyor drive shaft shall be 2" diameter.
12. Page 2 Conveyor. The specification calls for a bridge over the conveyor if necessary. A bridge, or commonly referred to as an Inverted Vee, is option on most brands on the market and a customer preference. Would the state clarify if this should be mandatory?
12.1. State response: The State will accept a unit without a "Bridge", provided the unit functions properly.
13. Page 2, Conveyor. The specification calls for pintle chain with ultimate strength of 30,900lbs. The next bullet points calls for a thickness of .2000 and references D667KC. Most brands on the market utilize a D667K or D667X pintle chain. Would the state accept a D667K or D667X chain as this is the most commonly stocked chain for ease of replacement parts. (Data sheet on image 5)
13.1. State response: The State will not accept this
14. Page 2 Conveyor. The specification calls for the floor to rest on angles rather than the industry standard cross supports. Would the state allow for the traditional cross supports as the cross supports create a stronger floor support whereas angles running longitudinally with the floor leaves the center of the floor unsupported and can cause the floor to concave in the center of the floor. The cross angles also create a boxed type structure in the long-sills area.
14.1. State response: The State will accept variations provided they are constructed of Stainless Steel.
15. Page 2. Conveyor Drive. The specification calls for a Durst A1126s. Durst has ceased production of many of their worm gear drives, including the A1126s. Would the state approve a Canimex 25:1 worm gearbox with 2” output shaft
(see image 7 below)
15.1. State response: The State will accept a variation, provided it is of the same design and function.
16. Page 2. Conveyor Drive. The specification calls for a 103-3398-012 with 60 pulse motor. The 103-3398-012 is no longer available. Would the state accept 101-1035 (5.9 cir) motor with 60 pulse sensor?
16.1. State response: The State will accept a variation, provided it is of the same design and function.
17. Are 2-5inch Fill Caps with Gaskets acceptable in lieu of 6 inch?
17.1. State response: The State will accept this change
18. Are Bulk head style Fittings Acceptable in Lieu of Molded in Brass inserts?
18.1. State response: The State will accept this change
