About this file
This document is an attachment titled "Changes to DWG 2551M0003 Rev 2 - 5" that details the functional changes made from Revision 2 to Revision 5 of the EIC HSR BPM Button Assembly drawing. The key changes include modifications to the fabrication specification, removal of an unspecified chamfer blanket specification, addition of leak check groove shape specifications, changes to connector height parameters, revisions to the method for defining the RF spring groove, addition of MMC to the BPM shaft's perpendicularity, changes to the chamfer on the BPM collar and RF spring groove, loosening of the parallelism tolerance between the button and collar, and a change in the connector type from SMA female to RP-SMA female.
The related federal contract opportunity is for the design and fabrication of the EIC HSR BPM Button Assembly, with BSA awarding up to three subcontracts for 35 preproduction components each, and an option for up to 1,355 production components per subcontract. The Department of Energy Office of Science is the federal agency responsible for this opportunity.

Text version
This report documents all functional changes from 2551M0003 Revision 2 to 5.
1. Location H8 –fabrication specification changed from SPEC.CAD-1119 to EIC-VSG-SPC-023.
Note that notes 1 and 2 have switched.
2. Location G8 – unspecified chamfer blanket specification has been REMOVED.
3. Locations E8, C5 – leak check groove shape specified.
4. Locations G4, G5 – height parameters for connector section changed (note that connector type change is addressed on #13). New drawing defines minimum height from ConFlat surface to connector base (.3), as well as new maximum height from ConFlat to connector top (.75).
Revision 2 Revision 5
Attachment H
5. Locations F5, G3 – method for defining RF spring groove has changed. Diameter of groove (Ø.741) is now a reference. The .040 depth indicated in Detail B (originally reference) now defines groove.
Revision 2 Revision 5
Revision 2 Revision 5
6. Location F5 –method of defining position between the Ø .821” BPM shaft, 6x bolt holes, and RF spring groove has changed. Revision 2 shows the shaft and bolt holes referencing the RF spring groove edge (Datum B). In Revision 5, Datum B changes to the shaft, and the bolt holes and RF spring groove reference the shaft for position.
Rev 2 Rev 5
Accordingly, the positional tolerance has moved from the shaft to the RF spring groove. Also note the change in runout reference datum for the Ø 1.090” feature (this is not functionally different, as it references the same datum):
Note that there is no visible change for the bolt holes, but the Datum B it is referencing has changed as mentioned above.
7. Location F5 – MMC has been added to the BPM shaft’s perpendicularity.
8. Location G4 – proper nominal dimension for radial gap between button and collar now shown (note that dimensions for both have not actually changed):
Location D4 – same as above.
9. Location F4 – chamfer added to inside edge of BPM collar.
10. Location F3 – chamfer of two inside edges of RF spring groove reduced to .005 MAX.
11. Location D4 – runout now references datum B. Note that functionally this remains identical to Rev 2, but the name of the datum being referenced has changed from C to B.
12. Location D4 – parallelism tolerance between button and collar loosened from .002 to .003.
13. Location D2 – connector changed from SMA female to RP-SMA female.
14. Location B8 – flatness of button surface tightened from .005 to .002.
15. Location A8 – chamfers added to both outer edges of button.
