About this file

This document is a Door Hardware specification for the EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades project at the Sousley VA Campus in Lexington, Kentucky. The specification provides detailed requirements for door hardware installation, including continuous hinges, butt hinges, door closing devices, overhead closers, door stops, locks, and electrical hardware components. Key technical specifications include:

Hardware requirements cover a range of door types with specific installation guidelines, such as hinge size requirements based on door thickness and width, and provisions for fire-rated doors. The document includes multiple hardware sets for different door configurations, with many sets featuring advanced security elements like electric strikes, card readers, PIR rex sensors, and magnetic switches. Manufacturers must comply with ANSI/BHMA standards, and hardware must meet accessibility requirements, with special attention to fire safety, egress, and coordination with security systems. The specification also mandates anti-microbial coatings on hand-operated hardware and provides detailed installation, warranty, and finishing instructions.
