About this file
This is a technical specification document (Section 08 80 00 - Glazing) for the construction of a Sleep Disorder Clinic and Specialty Clinic at the TVHS Murfreesboro Campus in Tennessee, VA Project Number 626-310. The specification covers glazing systems including glass units, glazing materials and accessories for factory and field glazed assemblies, horizontal metal slat louver blinds installed between hermetically sealed glass panes, and glazing film applications.
The document specifies two primary glass types: Glass Type IG#1 for exterior doors and windows featuring high-performance low-E-coated clear insulating glass with 25mm overall thickness, integrated blinds, 62% minimum visible light transmittance, and 0.27 maximum solar heat gain coefficient with blast resistance requirements; and Glass Type LG#1 for interior door glazing consisting of clear laminated glass with two fully tempered float glass lites. Key performance requirements include compliance with ASTM standards, GANA Glazing Manual guidelines, and proper labeling per ANSI Z97.1 and SGCC requirements. The specification details installation methods including wet/dry glazing systems, setting block placement, sealant application procedures, and requires manufacturer warranties of 10 years for insulating glass units and 5 years for laminated glass units. All glazing must withstand specified wind loads per ASCE 7, thermal stresses, and building movements without failure while maintaining watertight and airtight seals.
