About this opportunity
The City of Fairburn, located in Fulton County, Georgia, is seeking qualified contractors to complete the Mullis Street Pedestrian Improvements Project (#25-003) through an Invitation for Bid (IFB). The project scope involves installing a 5-foot concrete sidewalk with a 2-foot beauty strip along Mullis Street, specifically from West Campbellton Street to Dodd Street, and from Dodd Street to Strickland Street. Additionally, the project includes pedestrian improvements on a section of Dodd Street from Mullis Street to W. Broad Street. An alternate bid (Add Alternate #1) is available for pedestrian lighting installation. The project requires complete execution within 90 calendar days of receiving the Notice to Proceed with Construction. Sealed bids will be received at the City of Fairburn City Administration Building until 2:00 pm on Friday, April 11th, 2025, with bid opening conducted via teleconference using the provided call-in number (+1 (605) 475-4022) and access code (507-837). Bids will remain valid for 60 days after the submission deadline, and the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive irregularities.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the procurement documentation. The solicitation appears to be open to all qualified contractors capable of meeting the project specifications. Accompanying the bid documents is a 23MB PDF file named "Drawings.pdf" which likely contains detailed project plans and technical specifications. While no specific budget range or award value was provided, the comprehensive nature of the pedestrian infrastructure project suggests a substantial municipal investment in local transportation infrastructure improvements. Interested contractors should carefully review the attached drawings and be prepared to demonstrate technical capability in sidewalk and pedestrian improvement construction. The teleconference bid opening provides an accessible method for contractors to participate in the procurement process, regardless of geographical location.
