About this opportunity

The U.S. AbilityOne Commission, through the National Industries for the Blind (NIB), is seeking potential partnerships with U.S. commercial manufacturers of floor care products such as floor stripper, floor cleaner, floor buffer, and floor polish. The goal is to add these products to the AbilityOne Procurement List under a co-brand agreement, which would provide employment opportunities for people who are blind or severely disabled. Key requirements include conforming to specified National Stock Numbers, meeting or exceeding FAR and other federal standards, being USDA BioPreferred certified, and meeting certain ecolabel criteria. Manufacturers must have a nationally recognized brand, demonstrate their ability to assist the nonprofit agency in expanding its product line, and be willing to provide technical support and work with AbilityOne on pricing. Responses are due within 30 days of the notice publication.

This procurement is not set aside for any specific business category. The AbilityOne Program does not provide any information about potential incumbent contractors or award values. The notice indicates that the goal is to increase blind work hours and keep expansion costs to the nonprofit agency at a minimum through these co-brand agreements with commercial manufacturers.
