The site utility drawings show demolition occurring with existing site utilities, and also new infrastructure (water, electric, telecommunications, runway taxiway lighting) to be installed. It is not clear how and when the demolition of the existing utilities and construction of the new utility infrastructure coincides with the proposed sequence of construction of three phases of demolition of existing buildings and construction of the new proposed facilities. Examples include timing of the taxiway lighting system and overhead electric utility poles. Would you please provide any critical activities preceding or following the utility work?
Please see revised Drawings GI005 per AM-0011, and ES101, ES102, ES103, ES104, ES112, and ES113 per Am-0010 for timing of any activities identified as critical.

254 Section 03 30 00.00 10 Cast in Place Concrete
Specification 03 30 00.00 10 “Cast in Place Concrete”, classifies the aggregate for cast in place concrete as “5S” for severe weather region. Referring to table 4 of ASTM C33-16, the classifications are defined as follows;
(S) Severe Weathering Region—A cold climate where concrete is exposed to deicing chemicals or other aggressive agents, or where concrete may become saturated by continued contact with moisture or free water prior to repeated freezing and thawing.
(M) Moderate Weathering Region—A climate where occasional freezing is expected, but where concrete in outdoor service will not be continually exposed to freezing and thawing in the presence of moisture or to deicing chemicals.
(N) Negligible Weathering Region—A climate where concrete is rarely exposed to freezing in the presence of moisture”.
Hawaii is unique among the United States in that it has warm weather conditions year-round.
Ambient air temperatures for this project average in the 70’s - 80’s Fahrenheit so there is no risk of exposure to freeze thawing cycles or the use of deicing chemicals. Fig. 1 from page 7 of ASTM C33 is a map showing the “Location of Weathering Regions”. Although Hawaii is not shown on the map, Hawaii has a milder climate than coastal southern California which is classified as “negligible weathering”
Therefore, will the designers reclassify the requirements of the concrete aggregates as “Negligible Weather” (1N or 2N) as indicated by the definitions in ASTM C33?
Please see revised Section 03 30 00.00 10, paragraph 2.3.2, per Am-0010.
The Room Finish Schedules differ from what is shown in the floor plans at certain locations. Please confirm the correct flooring type for the following locations:
a. AS300 Alert Shelter is shown as being EXST PCC Pavement in A-130 Alert Shelter Overall Floor Plan but is shown in the A-600 Interior Room Finish Schedule as being EP-1. In addition, A-130 indicates “Fuel resistive resinous flooring over EXST PCC pavement in the main bay areas of the Alert Shelter” per keynote 6 with arrows pointing to five areas. A-430 Alert Shelter A – Partial Floor Plan and A-431 B – Partial Floor Plan Option #1 per keynote 10 indicates “Fuel resistive resinous flooring over EXST PCC pavement in the main bay areas of the Alert Shelter” at only two locations. Please confirm the base bid is to have FRF-1 throughout the Alert Shelter with Option #1 reducing this down to only two locations.
b. AS301 Foam Room is not shown to have a floor finish in A-130 Alert Shelter – Overall Floor Plan or A-506 Alert Shelter – Wall Sections but is shown in the A-600 Interior Room Finish Schedule as being FRF-1.
c. EP101 Storage is shown as being VCT-1 in A-801 Crew Quarters and ECP
– Finish Floor Plan but is shown in the A-600 Interior Room Finish Schedule as being CS-1.
d. CQ206 WTT is shown as being RAF-1 in A-801 Crew Quarters and ECP – Finish Floor Plan but is shown in the A-601 Interior Room Finish Schedule as being CS-1. Please confirm the concrete under the Rigid Grid Access Flooring is to receive concrete sealer.

Bathroom Detail Clarification
1) Page A-200 shows robe hooks in showers. However, there are no robe hooks shown in the Crew Quarter Men’s room, the Women’s room (pg A-226), Bath # 1 & #2 (pg A-227), and Sentry Aloha Shower (pg A-245). Should there be robe hooks in these locations?
2) Detail B1/A-226 states that in the “A” detail, the tall shower stall wall should be PCT-3. However, the rest of the shower stall (“B” & “C2” detail) is CT-1.
Should the shower stall be CT-1 and the rest of the bathroom wainscoting be
PCT-3?
3) In pg A-422 there is no soap dispenser in Bath #1 (CQ226) & Bath #2 (CQ230). Is this correct?
4) In pg A-442 there is a sanitary napkin disposal (SND) located in the ADA stall of the men’s room (SA408). Should this be as Sanitary Cover Dispenser
(SCD)?
5) In page A-601: the Crew Quarters interior room finish schedule calls out CT- 1 & PCT-3 for base in the Bath# 1&2, men’s & women’s bathrooms; however, page A-226 & A-227 state that CT-1 is only used for Wainscoting. Which is correct?
