About this file
This document provides standardized LAN wiring specifications for contractors working on projects for the Oregon Youth Authority (OYA). It outlines the process for determining data jack needs and locations, ordering, maintenance, and installation. The specifications cover requirements for wall jacks, cabling, labeling, testing, and final walkthrough and sign-off. The document also includes a Security Technology Program Construction and Renovation Matrix that details the responsibilities of the Primary Systems Contractor, Owner Furnished/Contractor Installed, and Owner Furnished/Owner Installed components for security access control, security IP surveillance systems, and related infrastructure.
The related state and local contract opportunity is for the construction of a new parole and probation building at the Oak Creek Youth Correctional Facility (OCYCF) in Albany, Oregon. The work includes all labor, materials, transportation, equipment, and services as described in the attachments and ITB documents. The contract will be awarded to a single contractor to perform the construction work.

(YA 1603)
or place an order with appropriate contractor of their choice or have internal personal install the wiring.
▪ Facilities Maintenance
Lead on new installation
Maintenance is the primary contact for all work to be done.
Information Systems will provide guidance to maintenance staff as requested.
Procedure Specifics
4. Facilities Maintenance
Maintenance is responsible that the following specifications are adhered to by all contractors for LAN wiring.
5. Information Systems
Information Systems will determine the specifications and standards for network infrastructure.
A. All facility wall jacks require the use of security face plates with security screws.
B. Agency standard is AMP 110 connect, rj11 for voice and rj45 for wall jacks.
C. Data closet hardware would be AMP high density 24 or 48 port patch panels
D. CAT 6e blue cabling for data, CAT 6e white cabling for voice CAT6e yellow for video.
E. Existing pathways must be followed for the data and voice runs. Any exposed wiring must be concealed within an agency approved conduit or raceway.
F. All Jacks must be sequentially labeled both at the wall and at the patch panel with professional label.
G. All wiring must be tested and meet Category 6e specifications.
H. Certified results of test need to be provided by the vendor to maintenance.
F. Facilities Maintenance and Information Systems
Maintenance and IS will conduct a final walk through and sign off on all completed work.
