Questions & Answers, S-DASOBO-00009472 dated 11/21/2024 The following questions were received prior to the deadline listed in the Addendum 009. The questions were submitted timely and the answers to those questions appear below.
Q1: S2.10 shows HSS 6x6x1/4 posts supporting the screen wall. Section 5/S8.11 calls out the posts as HSS 3x3x3/16.
MSC Engineering's calcs call out 3x1-1/2x3/16. Which is the correct post size? Can the L2x2x3/16 angles at top and bottom of the posts be a field-bolted connection at the posts?
A1: Correct screen wall support posts are HSS 3x3x3/16. L2x2x3/16 angles may be field-bolted.
Q2: Clarification/additional information needed in regards of Q16 from Q&As date 11/128/2024:
“Q16: Detail 1&2/A5.29 call for a steel embed and bracket per structural for the privacy screen.
Structural drawings do not show details for this embed/bracket. Please provide structural details for the privacy screen embed & bracket.
A16: See Addendum 009, sheets S5.10, Revision 2 dated 07-16-24 for additional detail.”
No details are provided for privacy screen embed and bracket. Are steel plate and weld sizes available? Anchor bolt sizes and embed distance? Are Simpson CB66 Column Bases acceptable for the privacy screen-wall 6x6 post bases?
A2: Bracket is comprised of 5” x 8” x ¼” plates with (2) 5/8” diameter thru bolts, welded to 12” x 12” x 3/8” base plate with 3/16” fillet welds, anchored with (4) 1/2" diameter wedge anchors, embedded 3”.

A62: Conc-1 is unfinished exposed concrete. “
Please state whether “Concrete S.O.G.” will be either:
a. Float finish
b. Broom finish
c. Trowel finish
d. Burnished finish
A3: Concrete SOG to be float finish.
Q4: Clarification/additional information needed in regards of Q45 from Q&As date 11/128/2024:
“Q45: Are the FA and LV cabling permitted to be 'free air' above accessible ceilings? Will backboxes and conduit stubs be required in wall spaces or free air?
A45: "Free air" cabling above accessible ceilings is acceptable, backboxes and conduits stubs not required in walls or free air.”
Please, confirm that the backboxes or conduits in the walls for F/A and LV are not required. This is typically not common.
A4: Provide back boxes and conduit stubbed up to ceiling for all low voltage in walls. Free air only above accessible ceilings
