II. INSTALLATION SPECIFIC INFORMATION

A. BASE

(1) INTRODUCTION

Home to the C-5M Super Galaxy and C-17A Globemaster III aircraft, the Eagle Wing flies hundreds of missions throughout the world and provides 25 percent of the Nation's strategic airlift capability, projecting global reach to over 100 countries around the globe. Dover AFB operates the largest and busiest air freight terminal in the Department of Defense. Additionally, the Charles C. Carson Center for Mortuary Affairs is the DOD's largest joint-service mortuary facility and the only one located in the continental United States. The Fuels Management Flight issues over 23 million gallons per year in order to support these unique mission requirements. The team is directly responsible for safe issue and quality assurance for 5 grades of fuel with total storage capacity of 4.1 million gallons. Lastly, the Fuels Management Flight supports aircraft safety and air crew life support by issuing and storing 12K gallons of liquid oxygen, and 26K gallons of liquid nitrogen.
