Questions and Answers:
1. Will there be a Building Automation System in place to tie into?
Answer: There will be a BAS which is being installed through the current chiller replacement and BAS project. Additional information about the Chiller and BAS upgrades are available in Attachment C of the RFP. If additional information is necessary it will be posted on Commbuys as an addendum to the RFP.
2. Is the CHP measure expected to provide an induction or a synchronous generator?
Answer: This is not specified in the BOD. Either approach will be considered.
3. Is there a piping design for the CHP measure tie-in to the DHW system?
Answer: There isn’t a piping diagram included in the BOD as the expectation is for the CHP to tie in directly with the existing DHW systems. Refer to drawing P-001 and M-007 for Cogeneration Mechanical Flow Diagram.
4. Why isn’t the space heating load included in the design of the CHP?
Answer: The CHP measure was designed to serve just the DHW load in order to maximize its runtime. It is acceptable for proposers to include additional alternative CHP ECMs with different sizing if they feel it is technically and economically justifiable.
Tour of the facility included a housing unit, air handler and boiler mechanical rooms, laundry, and the central kitchen.
