3. The following technical questions and their individual answers are provided:
Q56r1. Is the existing clear finish on woodwork varnish or lacquer?
A56r1. It is assumed the existing clear wood finish is a varnish.
Q64. In section 230900 BMS Matrix the legend notes to see note 1 & 2 below, no notes apparent.
A64. No notes are required. Reference changes to section 230900 referenced in this amendment.
Q65. In section 230900 BMC Matrix notes line power to VAV Boxes, it is not apparent the power requirement in the E drawings, panel schedules or on the mechanical drawings.
A65. Reference changes made to BMC Matrix referenced in this amendment.
Q66. Drawing No. FS3.0, Foodservice Electrical Schedule – First Floor, Item No.
29.1, Cooler Condensing Unit calls for single phase power. Drawing FS7.0, Refrigeration Notes, Heatcraft air cooled condensing unit calls for three phase power. Which phase is it to be?
A66. Single phase power will be required upon installation of KEC by others at a later date.
Q67. Specification Section 114000 – Foodservice Equipment, Section 2.1.FF – Item 29.2 states “temperature tracking software and temperature data loggers for walk in cooler; See FS 7.1 Detail 7”. FS 7.1, Detail 7 shows a wiring diagram for “Walk In Control & Monitor Each Instance” as well as “Stand Along Refrig.
Monitor Per Each Instance”. Please clarify if stand alone refrigerators, Items 209, 211 and 212 are to be a part of the Weiss temperature tracking software and temperature data loggers.
A67. Kitchen equipment is Not in Contract and will be provided by others at a later date.
Q68. Drawing No. FS7.0, Refrigeration Notes, Climate Control low profile evaporator is stated to include a mounted thermostat via the walk‐in manufacturer. It is our understanding that Item 29.2 – Controlling & Monitoring Gateway replaces the thermostat controls provided by the walk‐in manufacturer.
Please clarify how the walk‐in will be controlled.
A68. Kitchen equipment is Not in Contract and will be provided by others at a later date.
Q69. Drawing No. FS7.0, Doors Notes, lists a single pole toggle switch w/ pilot light @ ext. It is our understanding that Item 29.2 – Controlling & Monitoring Gateway replaces the standard lighting controls with its own keypad. Please clarify how the walk‐in lighting will be controlled.
A69. Kitchen equipment is Not in Contract and will be provided by others at a later date.
Q70. Reference Drawing No. FS7.1, Detail 7 and Specification Section 114000 – Foodservice Equipment, Section 2.1.FF – Item 29.2. It is our understanding that the Electrical Contractor is to provide wiring and terminate all connections to the Weiss Instruments Control System as shown on Detail 7. Please confirm.
A70. Kitchen equipment is Not in Contract and will be provided by others at a later date.
Q71. Reference Drawing No. FS3.0, Drawing No. FS7.1, Detail 7 and Specification Section 114000 – Foodservice Equipment, Section 2.1.FF – Item
29.2. It is our understanding that the Weiss Instruments Control System requires communication wiring from the location of the XW60K, typically located atop the walk‐in box, to the Web X location, typically located near a desk and/or computer. It is not clear from FS3.0 where this location is to be. Please clarify.
A71. Kitchen equipment is Not in Contract and will be provided by others at a later date.
Q72. Reference Specification Section 114000 – Foodservice Equipment, Section 2.1.FF – Item 29.2. Weiss Instruments offers two models of its XWEB KIT Control & Monitoring Gateway; XWEB300D and XWEB500D. Which model is desired for this project?
A72. Kitchen equipment is Not in Contract and will be provided by others at a later date.
Q73. Detail 18 on Sheet S5.1 appears to have several errors. This detail shows new floor sheathing on top of the existing diagonal sheathing on the first floor. It refers to detail 7 on sheet S5.3 which is a generic sheathing pattern for floors and roofs. The implication is that there is a new subfloor across the entire first floor which would put the first riser of the circular stair out of compliance with code.
Please clarify.
A73. It is the intention that at the first floor existing diagonal sheathing supplementary attachment occurs without the addition of new sheathing. New sheathing will be required at new addition areas of the first floor. Replace detail 18/S5.1 with detail 18/SSK-12 attached.
4. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
