About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) form related to the USS DEWEY (DDG-105) ship repair contract. The RFI, dated 25 October 2025, contains a specific contractor inquiry about tank cleaning requirements for tanks 5-78-2-F and 4-78-2-F, and questions regarding dewatering of Tank Group 1. The technical reviewer responded on 30 October 2025, confirming that tank 4-78-2-F should be cleaned and that dewatering of Tank Group-1 is not required due to the dry dock availability.
The associated federal contract opportunity is for a Chief of Naval Operation Availability (CNO) at the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka, Japan. The solicitation (N6264926RA004) covers fourteen Task Group Instructions for ship repair, overhaul, preservation, and replacement work on the USS DEWEY. The period of performance is from 30 March 2026 through 14 December 2026, with proposals due by 17 November 2025. The work will be conducted at Yokosuka Naval Base, and proposers must follow specific submission guidelines, including identifying hazardous materials and potential sea transportation requirements.

38K4212344A01 For cleaning 5-78-2-F, we believe 4-78-2-F also required to be cleaned. Will it not be required in TGI?
Is it possible to inform us the reason of Dewatering of Tank Group 1 is not included in para 5.1?

RESPONSE TO CODE 200:
The tank 4-78-2-F should be cleaned so the TGI needs to correct.
Dewatering of Tank Group-1 is not required because 6C1 avail is dry dock so we don't need to care ship's stability.
