Accomplish the requirements of 009−09 of 2.1 for scaffolding and roof system to be installed at locations listed in 1.2.1.
Provide, install, and maintain a system type scaffold with sufficient levels and projections to safely reach and have access to all surfaces at each area listed in 1.2.1 and sufficient levels to support a Haki Trak 750 or equal roof system which will cover each area listed in 1.2.1 as directed by the SUPERVISOR. Roof system material (scaffolding portion) will be provided to the Contractor by NNSY and the USS ALBANY Project. Initial installation will include areas listed in 1.2.1.1 and 1.2.1.2. Area listed in 1.2.1.3 will be installed post DMD as directed by the SUPERVISOR. Area listed in 1.2.1.4 will be installed following Sonar Dome removal as directed by the SUPERVISOR. For illustration of NNSY’s expectations in regards to the External Hull enclosure and roof system, to show similar location of system type scaffolding to support roof system, and in support of bidding, refer to 2.4. Sheets in 2.4 are from a Portsmouth Shipyard drawing and are intended only as an illustration of system scaffolding design to support External Hull enclosure and roof system. Required scaffolding locations for the USS ALBANY (SSN−753) are as listed in 1.2.1.
During inspection in 3.1, Contractor, SUPERVISOR, NNSY Scaffolding Inspector and/or Project Designated Scaffolding Representative and those parties deemed necessary by the WIZM will determine Contractor starting/stopping points in regards to the Radiation Areas for both port and starboard sides. This shall be accomplished to ensure and allow for appropriate spacing between Contractor installed scaffolding in 1.2.1.1, 1.2.1.2 and 1.2.1.3 and NNSY installed scaffolding in Radiation Areas.
Install a Haki Trak 750 or equal roof system for scaffolding system installed in 3.3 at each location listed in 1.2.1. Roof system material (scaffolding portion) will be provided to the Contractor by NNSY and the USS ALBANY Project.
NNSY will provide and install the system type scaffolding required to support the haki roof system over the Radiation Areas. Radiation Areas will be approximately from Frames 68 to 75 on the Starboard side, and Frames 75 to 87 on the Port side.
Provide access to external hull scaffolding using access stair units at a total of 6 (each) locations, 3 (each) units will be located port side, and 3 (each) units will be located starboard side as directed by the WIZM and the NNSY Scaffolding Inspector via the SUPERVISOR.
