About this file
This amendment modifies a solicitation for the design and construction of facilities to support the Marine Corps Reserve Center at Camp Fretterd in Maryland. The Navy Facilities Engineering Command issued Amendment 0006 to provide clarification to an RFI response regarding A/V responsibility and to revise locker room specifications. The amendment adjusts double-tier locker height from 50 to 60 inches, locker bench width from 10 to 9.5 inches, and adds pedestal requirements. The related solicitation seeks the construction of a new 35,130 square foot Reserve Center building, a 10,968 square foot vehicle maintenance facility, and a 4,000 square foot storage shed. No response date is noted.

AMENDMENT 0006
THE PURPOSE OF THIS AMENDMENT IS TO PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING:
1. CLARIFICATION TO RFI #11 RESPONSE
2. PROVIDE RFI RESPONSE
3. ATTACHMENTS
All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
1. CLARIFICATION TO RFI #11 RESPONSE
RFI 11 states “Division 27/28 What surveillance and communication equipment falls under government install, please specify”
Government Response “Government provided and installed equipment are: Video Surveillance, Access Control, IDS, Network switches”
Clarification:
The original comment was specific to surveillance and communication equipment.
The contractor has assumed “communication equipment” to also include A/V, which it does not. To respond to the A/V question, the responsibility matrix that is provided on the A/V drawings is specific to the A/V components only (not the communications, surveillance or security equipment).
2. RFI RESPONSES
188. Specification 2.1.1 Single Tier Gear Lockers indicate 36"W x 36"D x 72" H. No manufacturers produce a locker with those dimensions. The largest Gear Locker available is 36"W x 24"D.
Specification 2.1.2 Double Tier Lockers call for a double tier locker that is 50" high. Standard double tier locker heights are 60".
The drawings show benches that are 10" wide - industry standard is 9.5". There are no specifications for pedestals for the bench tops to sit on.
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE:
IFC SPECIFICATIONS - VOLUME 3 (MCRC AND OSS) / SECTION 10 51 13 / Page 2: Delete Specification
2.1.1 Single-tier gear lockers and add “Type DTL-3: Double-tier gear locker 36 inches wide, 36 inches deep, and 72 inches high, attached to 6 inch high legs” to Specification 2.1.2 Double-Tier.
IFC SPECIFICATIONS - VOLUME 3 (MCRC AND OSS) / SECTION 10 51 13 / Page 2 Specification 2.1.2 Double-tier: change 50 inches to 60 inches
IFC SPECIFICATIONS - VOLUME 3 (MCRC AND OSS) / SECTION 10 51 13 / Page 4 Specification 2.4 Locker Benches: Change 10 inches deep to 9.5 inches and add pedestal description, “ Provide two single-post with cover plate pedestals, bolt mounted in powder coated finish.”
