1.0 ABSTRACT:
1.1. This item describes the repair of CHT piping multiple locations on the ship.
2.0 REFERENCES:
2.1. NAVSEA Drawing 521-6360567; CHT System Diagram.
2.2. Alternate Drawing 05021155; MSD & CHT System Diagram.
3.0 ITEM LOCATION/DESCRIPTION: See addendum 1 below.
4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/MATERIAL/SERVICES:
4.1 GFE: None

4.3 SERVICES: None
5.0 NOTES:
5.1. The contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier shall consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine their effect on the work items in this work package, which may be effected by the requirements of this item.
5.2. The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, are advised to review the other Work Items under this contract to determine their effect on the work required under this Work Item. Many of the definitions relating to the performance of this work item are found in Work Item 001.
5.3. The contractor will provide a Licensed Marine Chemist to certify and main all areas of this repair requiring hotwork as “Safe for Men/Safe for Hotwork”.
5.4. Work Area will be sterilized to prevent contamination of the ship with sewage effluent from cut sections or any leakage. Removed piping that is being replaced will be double bagged prior to transport through the ship.
5.4.1. The contractor is responsible for disposal of all scrap generated in this repair IAW Local Laws and Customs
6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None Additional
7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED:
7.1. Removals:
7.1.1. With the assistance of Ship’s Force Lock Out the affected piping.
7.1.2. Thoroughly drain and dispose of the residual liquids in accordance with the local, state and federal regulations.
7.1.3. Clean each area, gas free, and maintain work site Safe for Workers, Safe for Hot Work for duration of work.
7.1.4. Piping may be up to eight feet above the deck. Contractor is responsible for staging to access pipe areas
7.1.5. Temporarily remove interferences required to facilitate this repair.
7.1.6. Replace piping identified in Para 3 see addendum below
a. Replace all hardware and gasket using SSTL
b. *CHECKPOINT* Conduct an NDT test to prove weld and flow integrity on all areas welded. Demostrate open and close operation on CHT-V-1
c. Cantractor shall also price for locations to be determined:
i. 50 Feet of 4 inch CUNI pipe.
ii. 50 Feet of 5 inch CUNI pipe.
iii. Assume all locations will not require staging.
7.1.7. Renew all and paint all disturbed surfaces to match surrounding area. Paint shall be GFM.
