REMOVE WATERJET JETAVATOR
1.0 ABSTRACT:
1.1 This item describes removal and inspection of Waterjet Jetavator No. 3 for close inspection of impeller.

NOTES:
5.1 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR’s.
5.2 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier are advised to review other work items under this contract to determine their effect on the work required under this work item. Many of the definitions relating to performance of this work item are found in Work Item 001.
5.3 The Shipyard shall furnish, fabricate, procure as necessary, all tools and equipment recommended by the O.E.M. Wartsila to perform the removals and installations. This includes all lifting and rigging equipment.
6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None Additional
7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED:
7.1 The Shipyard shall furnish the services of a Wartsila Technical Representative to oversee and perform all waterjet work described by this work item.
7.2 Remove Jetavator Unit IAW Wartsila procedures.
7.3 Clean all mating surfaces. Re-install Jetavator with contractor furnished materials.
7.4 During a dry docking, the water in the stator bowl must be drained from all waterjets. Neglecting this can cause corrosion damage.
7.5 Before and after Jetavator removal and contractor shall perform Jetavator to vessel hull isolation electrical continuity readings. Readings shall be recorded in Megohms and provided to MSC Rep.
7.6 Provide a service report from the technical representatives indicating conditions found and work performed.
7.7 Covered under WI 0908. Perform NDT dye penetrate examination of each impeller. Dye-check the blade palms and the blade leading and trailing faces. NDT shall be observed by the MSCREP and ABS Surveyor.
7.8 Covered under WI 0908. Perform final checks and adjustments to include calibrations of steering and reversing system to be tested during dock and sea trials by Wartsila Representative.
Inspections and Testing:
7.9 Painting, Labeling and Markings:
7.9.1 Touch up disturbed surfaces to match surrounding surfaces. Waterjet coated surfaces are SEASPEED Product.
7.10 Manufacturers Representative:
7.10.1 Provide the services of a manufacturer's representative during installation testing and repairs.
