FIRE DOOR MAINTENANCE
1.0 ABSTRACT:
1.1 This item describes the disassembly, inspection and maintenance for the ships fire doors.

4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/MATERIAL/SERVICES: None
5.0 NOTES:
5.1 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR’s including but not limited to GTR’s 1 through 7, 23, and 29.
5.2 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier are advised to review other work items under this contract to determine their effect on the work required under this work item. Many of the definitions relating to performance of this work item are found in Work Item 001.
6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS
6.1 All work shall be by A U.S.C.G. and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), authorized representative of the manufacturer. All work to be performed to ABS HSNC regulations.
7.0 STATEMENT Of WORK REQUIRED
7.1 All work specificed herein shall be performed under the supervision of manufacturers authorized service representative. Manufacturers are MML, Norac and Freeman.
7.2 All parts and material shall be OEM.
7.3 Perform the following for all doors listed in section 3.0:
7.3.1 Perform initial operational inspection and provide MSCREP report with recommended repairs.
7.3.2 Perform all periodic maintenance, adjustments, alignments and lubrication recommended by the door OEM.
7.4 Remove from ship each door listed in section 3.1.1.1. Erect temporary doors iwo removed.
7.4.1 Prep, prime and paint each door and frame.
7.4.2 Crop out and replace the following in two (2) doors/frames: four(4)feet of steel channel and 3 square feet of plate. Care shall be taken to prevent warping.
7.5 Provide and replace the following:
7.5.1 All hinges in location 3.1.4.
7.5.2 Closer assemblies in locations 3.1.3 and location 03-43-4.
7.5.3 One (1) lockset, WILKA master key system compatable in location 01-77-2.
7.5.4 All door gaskets and striker plates. All material shall be OEM approved, documentation shall be provide to ensure fire tight integrity is maintained.
7.5.5 One (1) each trigger catch, center module, bolt socket, lower throw bar and window blinder latch compatable with doors listed in section 3.1.1.1.
7.6 Troubleshoot and repair non-functional secondary door latches in location 1-12-2. Estimate entire latch system will require replacement.
7.7 Turn over all removed and unused parts to ships force.
7.8 Inspection/Test
7.8.1 Contractor shall perform operational tests, chalk tests and water tight testing of each door upon completion of repairs. MSCREP and ABS shall witness testing.
7.9 Provide a final report of all completed repairs to MSCREP.
