| PLC SURVEY |
1.0 ABSTRACT
1.1 This item describes the requirements to perform a survey of all Automation Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and providing applicable support software for the purpose of documenting and maintaining the existing class configuration.

3.0 ITEM LOCATION/DESCRIPTION
3.1 Location: Various locations throughout the vessel
4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/ MATERIAL / SERVICE
4.1 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT: NONE
4.2 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED MATERIALS: NONE
4.3 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED SERVICES: 110V Electrical service. Government will not furnish wiring, plugs and receptacle connectors.
5.0 NOTES
5.1 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR’s including but not limited to GTR’s 1 through 7, 22, 23, 26, 28 and 29.
5.2 The contractor shall not operate ship’s equipment.
5.3 The contractor shall follow the MSC Lock Out Tag Out Procedure administered by the vessel’s Chief Engineer.
6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS
6.1 The contractor is responsible for cleaning all areas disturbed as a result of work performed.
7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED
7.1 Arrangement/Outfitting: None
7.2 Structural Modifications: None Additional
7.3 Mechanical/Fluids: None Additional
7.4 Electrical: None Additional
7.5 Electronics:
7.5.1 Verify with Chief Engineer that ship’s crew performed Lock Out and Tag Out of effected systems prior to work start.
7.5.2 Using references 2.1.1 thru 2.1.7 as guidance Perform survey of vessels PLCs and HMIs related to all machinery automated control systems. Submit survey report to MSCREP.
7.5.3 Provide and replace a total of 42 load center batteries using reference 2.1.7 as guidance. Ensure that government furnished Austal rep has recorded existing configuration prior to battery replacement.
7.5.4 Provide and replace a total of 8 wartsila lipstronic Q CPU batteries using reference 2.1.8 as guidance. Battery replacement shall be supervised by wartsila rep provided in WI 907. Ensure that Wartsila rep has recorded existing configuration prior to battery replacement.
7.5.5 Perform the following for each PLC and HMI identified in para 7.5.2:
7.5.5.1 Document and obtain all software, instruction manuals, interface cables and equipment required to access to each component. Document these items on a list and provide one copy of this list to the MSCREP and one copy to the vessel upon equipment turnover listed in para 7.5.3.3.
7.5.5.1.1 Software shall include any programs required to develop, debug, compile and build the program used by each PLC or HMI.
7.5.5.1.2 Instruction manuals shall include instructions for set up, generation, compiling, and debugging all software.
7.5.5.2 Download the existing source code from each of the components listed in survey. Document all the components which were unable to download the program and provide that to MSCREP so he can pursue acquiring these from original providers.
7.5.5.2.1 Contact vendors to acquire any software that could not be uploaded or otherwise obtained.
7.5.5.3 Source and provide to CHENG all software, existing source code files and manuals in CD format. Label and provide all interface cables and equipment to CHENG.
7.5.5.4 Install software, source code files and software manuals onto the ships maintenance laptop provided by CHENG.
7.5.5.5 All documentation, files, software, manuals and hardware delivered to the ship shall be organized to allow for control and means to maintain it.
7.5.6 Provide to the MSCREP a detailed report containing all items delivered to the vessel. Final report shall be in format of 2.1.6 and 2.1.7.
