16. REMARKS (Continued)
The prime contractor shall submit a DD Form 1694 for any request for variance or deviation on any part found to be non-conforming with all requirements per the technical data package provided. The prime contractor shall present this form and supporting documentation (per the instructions on the form) for Government Engineering review and disposition. All planned corrective actions will then become action items to be discussed during subsequent technical interchange meetings (between the Government and contractor) until corrective action has been successfully implemented and the need for future requests for variance is resolved. Requests for variance and associated corrective actions will also be summarized in the monthly status reports. Additional information to support the request for variance may be required and should be provided to the Government within 5 business days.
The Mature and Proven Aircraft (MAPA) Engineering Branch, AFLCMC/WLDEC, is the Engineering Source Authority (ESA) for disposition of all non-conforming products under this effort.
A complete set of each DD Form 1694 applicable to parts within a kit shall be electronically provided to the Contracting Officer and enclosed with each kit shipment.
