ASBESTOS INSPECTION REPORT FOR BUILDING 270
INSTALL THREE LO PAINT BOOTHS
During June 2014, Mr. Bart Priest, with 309 MXSS requested an asbestos inspection of Building 270 to install three new LO paint booths. The scope of this project is as follows:
Work Location: Building 270 Work Order: #57659
Statement of Work:
• Install three new LO paint booths.
• This inspection report is project specific and is not a valid report for any other project(s) associated with Building 270.
The information provided for this inspection report is based on samples collected by Neldon Anderson (Utah Certified Asbestos Inspector ASB-#0054). Samples for this survey were collected on 21 August 2014. The Science and Engineering laboratory, utilizing EPA Method 600R-93-116, analyzed all samples, which is PLM similar to NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods 9002. Civil Engineering personnel also reviewed all available asbestos inspection reports databases of suspect asbestos containing building materials (ACM) that could potentially be encountered in this area. The information gathered from all current and previous inspections is shown below by homogenous area.
Footages are based upon the scope of work provided by the requestor.
Drywall/Joint compound wall system (3,200 sq’) was sampled from the exterior northwest corner of the paint mixing room, the exterior north side of the west entry to the break room, the northeast corner of the break room, the southeast corner of the 2nd floor office, and the east side of the south door to the paint mixing room. These samples were analyzed as non-asbestos containing material (GM143121, GM143122, GM143123, GM143124, and GM143125).
Drywall/Joint compound ceiling system (1,400 sq’) was sampled from the center east side of the northwest corner of the paint mixing room, the center west side of the northwest paint mixing room, and the southwest side of the paint mixing room. These samples were analyzed as non-asbestos containing material (GM143126, GM143127, and GM143128).
Ceiling tile 2’x2’ white pockmarks/pinholes pattern (1,600 sq’) was sampled from the northwest corner of the break room, the southeast corner of the break room, the southwest corner of the break room, the southeast corner of the 2nd floor office, and the northwest corner of the 2nd floor office. These samples were analyzed as non-asbestos containing material (GM143129, GM143130, GM143131, GM143132, and GM143133).

Pipe fitting insulation white over yellow (1,500 ln’) was sampled from the southeast corner of the break room, the southwest corner of the C-130 paint booth, and the west side of the A-10 paint booth. These samples were analyzed as non-asbestos containing material (GM143134, GM143135, and GM143136).
Pipe fitting insulation white over yellow (50 ea.) was sampled from the northwest side of the building, the southeast corner of the building, the exterior northwest corner of C-130 paint booth, the north side of the A-10 paint booth, and the southeast corner of the break room. These samples were analyzed as non-asbestos containing material (GM143137, GM143138, GM143139, GM143140, and GM143141).
Ceiling bat insulation white over grey over yellow (1,000 sq’) was sampled from the southeast corner of the break room, the southeast corner of the 2nd floor office, and the northwest corner of the break room. These samples were analyzed as non-asbestos containing material (GM143142, GM143143, and GM143144).
Wall bat insulation white over green1,000 sq’) was sampled from the northwest corner of the building, the northwest corner of the building, the northeast corner building, the northeast corner of the hangar, the northwest corner of the hangar, and the southeast corner of the hangar. These samples were analyzed as non-asbestos containing material (GM143145, GM143146, GM143147, GM143148, GM143149, and GM143150).
Duct insulation foil over white (70 ln’) was sampled from the center west side of the break room, the southeast corner of the break room, and the northwest corner of the break room. These samples were analyzed as non-asbestos containing material (GM143151, GM143152, and
GM143153).
Floor tile white with blue over yellow adhesive (1,600 sq’) was sampled from the northwest corner of the break room, the southeast corner of the break room, and the northeast corner of the break room. These samples were analyzed as non-asbestos containing material (GM143154, GM143145, and GM143156).
Duct stack expansion collar, black (120 ln’) was sampled from the center stack #7790 C0130 paint booth, the north stack #7791 C-130 paint booth, and the south stack #7789 C-130 paint booth. These samples were analyzed as non-asbestos containing material (GM143157, GM143158, and GM143159).
9” Floor tile and associated black mastic/adhesive is assumed to be an asbestos containing material. Do not disturb this material.
All hard Thermal System Insulation encountered above ceilings, behind walls, in wall chases, in attic spaces, and in mechanical rooms is assumed to be asbestos. This includes all insulation on pipe runs, pipe saddles, tanks, and pipe fittings.

All suspect ACM not identified in the body of this report must be sampled to determine asbestos content. If materials are encountered which have not been previously identified/sampled, stop work and contact Nickolas King at 586-7094.
Remember that the locations of these building materials (homogenous areas) indicate where these materials were found, but do not necessarily mean that these are the only locations where these materials may be encountered during the project. When any new suspect ACM is encountered, stop work immediately and contact 75 CES/CEOHA to identify any new suspect building materials. As per state and federal regulations, if the scope of work or the work location changes, a new asbestos inspection and asbestos inspection report will be required.
DO NOT DISTURB ANY BUILDING MATERIALS THAT ARE SUSPECTED ACM.
CONTACT NICKOLAS KING AT 586-7094 TO ARRANGE REMOVAL OF THESE
MATERIALS IF THERE IS ANY POTENTIAL FOR THEM TO BE DISTURBED
DURING THIS PROJECT.
The project manager must post a copy of this inspection report at the project before this project begins, and must remain posted until the project is completed. Please contact Nickolas King at 586-7094 with any questions regarding this inspection report.
