Response: Para. 1-5 Asbestos drawing referred to is the last sheet of the set and is also in the drawing index on the title sheet G-01.

Para. 6 - Note on Sheet A-01 refers to your qualified asbestos sub contractor.

Para. 7 - The general contractor is responsible for hiring a qualified sub contractor to complete the work required per specification section 01 32 80.

4. Is a Soils Investigation Report available?

Response: No soils report is available.

5. Specifications Section 01 00 00, Part 3, Item E, states “The Government will occupy the premises during the construction period”. Please expand the definition of “occupy”. Does this mean partial occupation of office areas, exercise areas, gymnasium, racquetball court, locker room facilities, outdoor storage areas, etc.? Will construction require phasing to facilitate occupation and/or use of the premises?

Response: The government intends to occupy as much of the facility as possible, however we understand that areas are going to need to be shut down for the contractors completion of the work. Contractor is required to submit a schedule and to complete the contract in the prescribed amount of time.

6. Furniture Moving/Relocation: Specifications Section 01 00 00, Part 3, Item G, states “Move, protect, store and return furniture, equipment, and other items as necessary to complete painting, wall covering, tiling, carpeting, or any other work.” Does this mean the General Contractor be responsible for the removal, storage and re-installation of all exercise equipment and furnishings? Response: Yes, a new system is being called for in the drawings and specs.

14. Spec Section 05 12 00 Part 1.05 A & B:

Can the AISC certification for the Fabricator and the Installer be waived? This is a small job therefore it's difficult finding a company that's certified who is willing to look at the project. Also we have a respectful fabricator and erector in mind if this qualification could be waived. There is possibly cost savings involved.

Response: No the requirement will not be waived.
