PREPARATION
Throughout the course of the Work, phase operations to avoid interfering with access to – or use of – building. Maintain:
Required exits.
Security of existing building using temporary doors, closers, and locksets.
Execute the Work of this Section:
To ensure safety of persons against damage by falling dust and debris or other causes in connection with the Work.
To cause as little inconvenience to adjacent occupied building areas as possible.
To prevent movement or settlement of structure.
Provide and place bracing or shoring and be responsible for safety and support of structure. Assume liability for resulting movement, settlement, damage, or injury.
If safety of structure appears to be endangered, cease operations and notify the Contracting Officer immediately. Take precautions to properly support structure. Do not resume operations until safety is restored.
C.
Protection:
Provide, erect, and maintain barricades, lighting, guardrails, and warning signs as required by the AHJs to protect occupants of buildings and workers.
Protect building surfaces against damage from demolition operations.
Erect and maintain temporary dust‑control partitions as required to prevent spread of dust, fumes, and odors, and smoke to other parts of the building. On completion, remove temporary partitions and repair damaged surfaces to match adjacent surfaces.
4.
Erect and maintain overhead protection consisting of tarpaulins treated with fire retardant.
3.03 Execution
Notations are made in various places on the Drawings to call attention to demolition that is required; however these are not intended to show each item to be removed.
Electrical:
Remove and dispose of items indicated to be demolished on the Drawings.
Provide temporary wiring and connections to maintain existing systems in service during construction as indicated on the Drawings.
Remove salvage and debris from the Site as it accumulates.
Dispose of materials in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Do not store, sell, burn, or otherwise dispose of salvage and debris at the Site.

The same applies to existing lawns, sidewalks, drives, curbs, and gutters, throughout the Site.
B.
Repair demolition work performed in excess of that required.
3.05
CLEANING
Remove equipment, tools, and remaining materials and debris from the Site upon completion of the Work. Leave the Site in a condition acceptable to the Contracting Officer.
