INTRO
Introduction: Mission support tasks at CCAFS vary widely depending on the mission. Additionally, the timeframe and duration of each individual task varies widely depending on specific mission requirements. Some missions will require only Launch Vehicle (LV) tasks, some only Space Vehicle (SV) tasks and some, like this sample mission, will contain tasks supporting both. Each tab below represents a set of tasks, categorized by functional area, that occur leading up to a locally processed SV mission launching on Atlas 5.
Tab 1. LV Infra & Facility Tasks: These are tasks related to infrastructure and facility support occurring under PWS sections 1.2-1.5 and must be accomplished in preparation for each launch.
Tab 2. SV Area Processing Tasks: These are tasks related to SV processing in Area 59 that occur under PWS section 1.6.
Tab 3. SV & LV Ordnance Tasks: These tasks occur under PWS section 1.8, to include flight ordnance testing and transportation of flight ordnance to the LV and SV.
Tab 4. SV Communications Tasks: These tasks occur under PWS section 1.9. in support of SV processing/launch. Tasks include requesting additional communication ciricuits (when required), testing, mission support to include exercises and day of launch efforts.
Tab 5. LV MCO Tasks: These tasks occur under PWS section 1.9. for leach LV mission. Tasks include coordination with customers on details and creation of launch handbooks required for missions; testing and coordination of communications circuits between the Range and customer interfaces and day of launch support.
Tab 6. CVLM Example (this is an extension/clarification of TAB 5 MCO tasks): The CLVM is developed & maintained in support of Configuration (to include any & all Configuration changes) & Control of the assigned Mission Control Network utilized for each unique Mission/Launch requirements. The CLVM also provides the critical information required for the network programing of all nets on all ORION Switches/End Instruments in support of all the MCO-supported operations. Do not propose a separate cost for this tab. The cost should be included in Tab 5 proposed cost.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Government is seeking both the contractor's approch to accomplishing this mission as well as proposed costs for the entire mission based on the tasks outlined in this spreadsheet. The RFP requests the contractor to propose in 3 areas related to this mission support workbook: 1) A narrative approach to mission support, 2) a proposed cost related to LV support tasks (Tabs 1, 3b, and 5.), and 3) a propsoed cost related to SV support (Tabs 2, 3a, and 4).
