About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a demolition project for Buildings B1601 and B1407 on Wake Island, managed by the 611th Civil Engineer Squadron. The project requires the comprehensive removal of two structures, including all contents, foundations, slabs, electrical systems, mechanical piping, storage tanks, asphalt, and concrete surfaces. Key requirements include proper abatement of hazardous materials, adherence to environmental regulations, and careful handling of potential historical artifacts like a bronze historical marker.
The contractor must complete the project within 365 days of Notice to Proceed (NTP), with extensive documentation requirements including an Integrated Master Schedule, Work Plan, Quality Control Plan, Safety Plan, and a Demolition After Action Report. Critical tasks involve mobilization, site preparation, demolition, waste management, and environmental protection. The project involves coordinating with multiple government entities, including Det 1, the 611th Air Quality Program Manager, and the Cultural Resource Manager. Special considerations include potential unexploded ordnance, bone discoveries, and strict waste disposal protocols, with all debris to be removed from the island or placed in specific designated areas.
