RFI# RFI RESPONSE:
49 We are finding difficulties meeting certain floor program requirements as listed on the Space
Adjacency Diagram, Drawing A100. Please confirm we have the design freedom to adjust program adjacencies (space types) to different floors?
RESPONSE: Design freedom is allowed as far as configuration. For adjacency purposes, the spaces need to stay on the same floor to avoid any potential operational issues. The space adjacency diagram is used for understanding the functional requirements of the station.
51 Please confirm that the Acceptable Materials for
Structural Components, listed in specification section 01800 1.8.4, are only for structural components and this section does not apply to non-load-bearing architectural components.
RESPONSE: Correct. However, Non
Load Bearing components are subject to
IBC 2018, Chapter 16 Structural Design with criteria more specifically defined in
Section 01800, Section 1.7.8 Interior
Walls.
52 Specification section 1.7.5.1 Exterior Walls states
“Exterior walls should have a durable base material capable of resisting impact damage. To achieve this, walls are to be cast-in-place or precast concrete, CMU or similar durable material veneer at the exterior face. Section 1.7.5.4 Exterior Finish:
states if metal panels are used....." Please confirm that the exterior wall system can be metal panels per
1.7.5.4 on metal stud framing.
RESPONSE: Metal panels are not to be used. See amendment.

4-010-01 should standoff distance less than the maximum specified values on C-101 of the RFP drawings are provided.
RESPONSE: Appendix C of UFC 4-
0101-01 does not apply to this project due to the extreme small site.
55 The clear zone requirements are DoD and service specific per UFC 4-010-01. Please confirm that parking is allowed within the clear zones outside of the installation perimeter around USCG facilities.
RESPONSE: Parking is allowed within the clear zone defined by UFC 4-010-01.
Drawing C-101 indicates 10’-0” minimum distance between the allowable building plan area and the waterline, which is below the standoff distances specified in the UFC 4-010-01 between the building and the installation perimeter. Please confirm that the minimum standoff distance of UFC 4-010-01
Standard 1 or the material specific standoff distances of Appendix C of UFC 4-010-01 must be provided or if the lower 10’-0” shown on C-101 will satisfy the required standoff distances between the building and the waterline.
RESPONSE: The lower standoff distance of 10'-0" from the waterside only on drawing C-101, was approved by the
Coast Guard. The UFC 4-010-01 requirements between the building and the installation perimeter, does not apply to the site's west side only, for the
Mission Building.

RESPONSE: Confirmed. Base foundation plan on soil boring data provided in the proposal geotech exploration report.
59 The electrical load estimate and the one line diagram provided in section 01800 1 12-2 &3 do not appear to include the elevator, machine shop equipment, pier shore power loads. Please verify the estimated load and the system voltage requirements.
RESPONSE: For Bidding Purposes, revise capacities of Demand Amps to 800 and the MDP to 1200 amps. Engineer of
Record to confirm final design. See amendment.
60 The pier shore power systems are not listed to be part of the generator back up system. Please confirm.
RESPONSE: Confirmed.
61 Please provide the Design Dredge Elevation. RESPONSE:
-Note there is no planned dredging in this contract, this elevation is a design parameter to prove the structures can function as intended should future navigational dredging occur at the site.
-The design dredge elevation shall be finalized by the Designer of Record and approved by the USCG in progress submittals but shall not be less than 5’ below existing bathymetry for each marine structure.
-For minor incidental dredging that may occur as part of construction, follow the requirements of Section 1800, 1.18
Environmental, Permits, Controls and
Protections and associated references in
