Amendment 0009
70Z04721RMYERDB
SOLICITATION 70Z04721RMYERDB IS AMENDED AS FOLLOWS:
1. Add the following language to RFP Specifications Section 01800, Paragraph 3.9 Telecommunications
Space Allocation and Usage, under 3.9.2: “If the first floor telecommunications room is not provided, provide a larger second floor telecommunication entrance facility of minimum 204 sq ft provided the max run length does not exceed 295 feet. All first floor telecom requirements shall be supported by the second floor telecommunication space. ”
THE FOLLOWING REQUEST FOR INFORMATION/CLARIFICATION WERE RECEIVED:
Fort Myers Beach RFI #11:
RFP Section 01800, 1.1.3 indicates that only specific portions of UFC 4 010 01 are applicable as noted in the discipline specific technical sections. Please clarify which portions of UFC 4 010 01 are applicable.
RESPONSE: On page 101, the maximum and minimum set back criteria and structure and building hardening requirements, as referenced by UFC 4 010 01.
On page 157, the facility shall have a Mass Communication system, as referenced by UFC 4 010 01.
This is a screen shot of the DB-RFP searching for UFC 4-01001:
Fort Myers Beach RFI #012:
UFC 4 010 01, Standard 1 indicates the minimum standoff distance to the installation perimeter is 20 feet when there is 30 feet of clear zone outside the perimeter, and to provide a minimum aggregate standoff of
50 feet inclusive of the clear zones outside and inside the installation perimeter. Drawing C 102 (provided with the RFP and referenced in RFP Section 01800, 1.1.2.2) indicates a minimum set back of 15 feet to the security fence and does not indicate if there is a clear zone outside the security fence. Please clarify if the minimum standoff distances of UFC 4 010 01 are applicable to this project.
RESPONSE: In referenced to drawing C-102, the UFC 4 010 01, Standard 1 minimum standoff distance to the installation perimeter of 20 feet (and not 15 feet as noted on C-102) applies. Outside of properly line clear zones have not be mandated by the Coast Guard at this site on the east (CG staff parking) or the north side (existing concrete wall by adjacent private property owner). The minimum set back of 10 feet on the west side of the building is a given. The Design Builder shall establish the set-backs of the MMB location, as defined by other requirements of the DB-RFP.
Fort Myers Beach RFI #013:
RFP 01800 3.11.1.7; States to provide (1) 4-inch conduit for telecommunication OSP cabling from the
Station Building telecommunication equipment room to each planned cutter shore tie location. It further states that one 4-inch conduit is for copper and the second 4-inch is for fiber, which would result in two 4-inch conduits vs one. Please confirm conduit requirements from Station Building to each cutter shore tie.
RESPONSE: Provide (1) 4-inch conduit with inner duct for telecommunication OSP cabling from the Station Building telecommunication equipment room to each planned cutter shore tie location.
This conduit will be used for copper. Inner duct will be used for future optic connection.
Fort Myers Beach RFI #014:
RFP 01800 1.9; Please confirm that we are to include the cost associated with the survey of the “In-
Building” Signal levels associated with Emergency Responder Radio Communications system as required by NFPA 1 and NFPA Br72.
RESPONSE: Yes. The emergency responder radio communications (ERRC) test is typically performed by technicians that are trained and certified by the ERRC manufacturer. The AHJ (local fire marshal, etc.) may be involved to approve the test procedure and certify the results but it is typically a certified technician that performs the actual test. The cost for this test should be included.
Fort Myers Beach RFI #015:
RFP 01800 1.9; Please confirm that we are to include the cost associated with the Emergency Radio
Communication system in the event that radio signal strengths are below the acceptable levels as prescribed by NFPA 72.
RESPONSE: Yes, include the cost associated with the Emergency Radio Communication system in the event that radio signal strength are below acceptable levels as prescribed by NFPA 72.
Fort Myers Beach RFI #016:
RFP 01800 3.11.2.3; States to provide 12-pair PE89/CAT 3 copper cable from the Station Building
Equipment Room to the Guard Shack. Please provide conduit requirement associated with this cable requirement.
RESPONSE: RFP Paragraph 3.11.1.8 states that (1) 4-inch conduit to each gate panel location.
Fort Myers Beach RFI #017:
RFP 01800 3.4; States to provide a Telecommunication Room on all three floors. With the first floor level at the same elevation as the Boat Workshop Bay the 1ST Floor Telecommunication Room would not meet the requirements as stated in RFP 01800 1.4.4.3, second paragraph. Is it acceptable to remove the 1st Floor
Telecommunication Room requirement and utilize the 2nd Floor Telecommunication Room to serve work area outlets located on the 1st Floor Level.
RESPONSE: Yes, As long as the maximum run does not exceed 295 feet and the second floor space grows to minimum 204 square feet to accommodate any extra racks that may be installed. See
Amendment above.
