About this file

This is a specification document issued by the State of Illinois Department of Transportation Bureau of Business Services for the procurement of a tandem axle brine liquid tank trailer for District 2 operations. The specification details the technical requirements for a single unit featuring a minimum 5,000-gallon capacity stainless steel double conical trailer with an 8-wheel configuration, maximum width of 102 inches, and maximum length of 45 feet. The trailer must comply with all current Federal and State Safety Standards for chemical transport and include comprehensive equipment such as dual 23,000-pound axles, air ride suspension, full air anti-lock brakes, LED lighting systems, and a hydraulic powered pump system for dual-purpose brine hauling and wastewater disposal. Bidders are required to submit proposals based on manufacturers' latest standard models with all specified optional and special equipment included in the quoted unit price, and the State reserves the right to request demonstrations prior to delivery.

The specification requires bidders to submit complete proposal documentation including the specification acknowledgment, descriptive literature, manufacturer information, and component details for all major systems. All proposed equipment must be complete and ready for immediate use upon delivery, with deviations from specifications to obtain lower prices deemed unacceptable. The successful bidder will be responsible for providing a manufacturer's standard warranty of minimum one year from acceptance date covering all defective parts and workmanship, along with operator manuals, parts lists, service documentation, and factory-qualified personnel to provide instruction on operation, routine service, and maintenance for all assigned personnel at the headquarters location. The document does not specify pricing terms, set-asides, contract duration, renewal options, or funding sources in the provided specification.
