1. Will the VA confirm that formal commissioning will be required for this project? If so, Section 01 91 00 – General Commissioning, Part 1.9 was deleted. Will the VA clarify if the Commissioning Agent (CxA) will be hired by the VA or by the Contractor? Commissioning will be provided by the Contractor
2. Will the VA clarify whether any Asbestos or Lead-Based Paint containing materials will be encountered or disturbed during this project? If so, will the VA issue abatement specifications and the Hazardous Material Survey covering the areas of work?
AE Response: VA to provide reports.
3. Will the VA clarify is the Site Supt. can, if duly qualified, also serve in the roles of SSHO and CQC, or will a separate individual be required for either of those two roles? The Site Super Must be qualified for all roles.
4. Section 07 84 00 – Firestopping, Part 1.4-C requires a third-party firestopping inspector. Will the VA confirm this will be a requirement for this project? VA COR will inspect all firestopping with the assistance of the mechanical shop.
5. Will the VA confirm that the intent is for this work to be performed during off-hours, nights, or weekends? Work will be performed during work hours, nights, and weekends
6. Drawing EP-201 (typ), Keynote #6 requires the Contractor to run conduit and wire from the monitoring stations for connection to the hospital BMS system. Specifications were not included for Direct Digital Control work and BMS specifications. Will the VA provide specifications and necessary information for the connection and required integration for the VA Loma Linda BMS requirements?
AE Response: Per Key notes 6&7 contractor is required to route (1) ½”C with control wires to existing Siemens BMS panel from each of the two Chlorine Analyzer panels. One of the (2) available control outputs in each Chlorine Analyzer panel to be used. Recommend a minimum of 4#14 wires for each control feeder that is to be coordinated with Controls Contractor as required. Verify and utilize spare terminal at each BMS panel. Typical for each service bay. Each service bay BMS panel seems to be already connected to all other service bays in an existing BMS network.
