About this file
This document provides specifications for facility fuel systems upgrades at a Department of Veterans Affairs medical center. Key requirements include upgrading aboveground diesel fuel tanks, installing leak detection and fluid monitoring systems, and providing fuel quality maintenance equipment. Double-wall steel tanks must meet standards for construction, coating, and accessories. Digital monitoring is specified for tank levels, leaks on tanks and piping, and fuel quality. An automatic filtration and dewatering system is required to maintain fuel purity as it circulates from storage tanks. Submittals and qualifications are identified for manufacturers and installers. Testing, training, and as-built documentation must be provided upon completion of the work.
