About this file

This is a technical specification document for Section 260583 - Wiring Connections, part of the 25-388 CBI HVAC and Lighting Upgrade project (GovTribe ID: a3d24c046d92a203c765075d43bfa10d). The specification outlines electrical connection requirements for equipment installations, including materials, products, and execution standards. The scope includes flexible conduit connections, cord and plug configurations (NEMA 6-20R), disconnect switches, wiring devices, and related electrical components. All work must comply with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and relevant NEMA standards. The specification references related sections including low-voltage electrical power conductors, conduit systems, boxes, wiring devices, enclosed switches, and controllers. Submittals must include product data from wiring device manufacturers showing dimensions, configurations, and construction details.

The specification establishes material requirements for cords and caps meeting NEMA WD 6 standards, disconnect switches per Section 262816.16, flexible conduit per Section 260533.13, and wire and cable per Section 260519. Electrical connections must be made in accordance with equipment manufacturer's instructions, utilizing flexible conduit for conduit connections and liquidtight flexible conduit with watertight connectors in damp or wet locations. Field-installed disconnect switches are required, along with strain-relief clamps and fittings for cord connections at outlet boxes and equipment connection boxes. Terminal block jumpers and interconnecting conduit must be installed to complete all equipment wiring requirements. No pricing, contract term, award dates, or bid submission deadlines are specified in this technical specification document.
