About this file
This is an Independent Cost Estimate (ICE) document prepared by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) for fire extinguisher maintenance services. The project involves establishing a blanket contract for fire extinguisher service across all OCTA bases for a two-year term effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028. The scope encompasses fire extinguisher maintenance and servicing on an as-needed basis with no guarantee of usage. The RFQ was issued with a question submission deadline of April 30, 2026, and the Authority committed to responding with written addenda by May 4, 2026. Award will be made to the lowest, responsive, responsible firm on a lump-sum basis, and the successful contractor must bid on all line items to be considered responsive.
The total cost estimate for the two-year contract period is $55,000, allocated across three funding sources: $22,000 from allocation 2162-7612-D2108-2QD, $30,000 from allocation 2168-7612-D2108-2QD, and $3,000 from allocation 0035-7612-OC110-2QD. The estimate was prepared by Ashley Huynh on December 2, 2025, and is based on historical usage data from the current contract with Majestics Fire Inc. (Contract C32615), which this procurement will replace. The contract includes approved equals, and all firms submitting quotes must certify compliance with Ukraine/Russia-related economic sanctions imposed by California and the United States Government.
