About this file

This document is a technical specification section for a water meter system procurement for Organ Pipe Cactus National Park. The specification details requirements for a complete Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system, including 25 residential water meters (5/8" x 3/4" flow tube style) with electromagnetic or ultrasonic technology, a handheld meter reading system, and associated equipment. Key technical requirements include AWWA C750 conformance, NSF/ANSI 61 compliance, and 1.5% accuracy at normal operating flow ranges.

The procurement includes comprehensive system components such as a drive-by radio frequency meter reading system, utility billing/record keeping interface, and full installation integration. The contract mandates two full days of system training for National Park Service staff, on-site technical support during the warranty period, and requires bidders to provide three comparable references. The system warranty is one year from final contract payment, with the contractor responsible for correcting any system failures at no cost to the owner. The solicitation is issued by the Department of the Interior National Park Service, specifically for the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument's primary water system replacement project.
