Questions and Answers:
Q1. During the Site Visit on 7/24/2024 some inconsistencies were noticed with the 340000 Appendix A - Hazardous Materials Assessment Report regarding ACM materials in the Comfort Stations, Building Labels, and Locations. Is it possible to verify and clarify. IE: Bathroom # 4 See Below:
One material was confirmed to be ACM at the Mathroom #4 building, including the 12" by 12" tan mottled floor tiles with associated black mastic. Two suspect building materials were presumed to be ACM and were not campled to either protect the finishes of beacuse sampling would pose a saftey hazard. The two presumed ACM included the electrical wiring insulation and residual roofing sealant material.
“snapshot” pg 5/B of the Hazardous Materials Assessment Report
The report refers to Bathroom #4. Is this CS 0-305? If so, no 12”x12” Tan Mottled floor tile identified during site visit. There was a Tan Tile identified at CS 0-310 on the wall. Please clarify.
A1. The intent of this question is unclear, but we will do our best to answer. Both electrical wiring insulation and residual roofing sealant are to be removed and, if ACM, abated. Refer to electrical drawings for scope of electrical replacement and architectural drawings for roofing replacement.
Bathroom #4 is O-303. Refer to architectural demo plans (AD01) for existing flooring to be removed (vinyl composite flooring tile at O-303).
Q2. Bathrooms 2,3, and 4 do not have a comfort station number associated with them in the Hazardous Materials Assessment Report. Please clarify.
A2. Here are the associated buildings:
Bathroom #1: O-305 Bathroom #2: O-302 Bathroom #3: O-304 Bathroom #4: O-303
Q3. The Hazardous Materials Assessment Report states 11 Buildings in the report. Spec Section 02 82 13 – Asbestos Abatement, only refers to 10 buildings. Spec 02 82 13 leaves out the Visitors Center. Due to the inconsistencies of the Hazardous Materials Assessment Report, it makes me question the Spec. Is there any Asbestos Abatement needed or Mold Remediation in the Visitors Center? Please clarify and advise.
A3. There is no abatement or mitigation scope at the Visitor Center. This Hazardous Materials report was developed during an early stage of design, prior to the reduction of Visitor Center scope.
Q4. Quantities needed regarding Bear Boxes is not shown. How many Bear Boxes will need to be installed?
Please advise.
A4. 198 Total bear boxes. Breakdown:
• 140 salvaged BB to be reset on conc pads
• 15 ABA BB to be set on conc pads
• 43 sites needing new BB, to be set on conc pads.
Q5. Plan sheet 20-C21, Note 1 calls out 1” and 2” water pipe as PE. Will you please clarify if this pipe is supposed to be fusible polyethylene, or is it acceptable to use non-fusible poly pipe that requires brass service fittings similar to Ford fittings?
A5. The 1” and 2” water lines are considered service lines to the comfort stations/water spigots/water stations.
Specification Section 33 14 16 Site Water Utility part 2.1.B Service Pipe describes the type of pipe for the service lines.
Q6. L-1 calls for us to re-enamel the laves. Can we provide new lave in place of this? If so, what model number?
Also, please note that it calls for floor mounted carriers this will not work with some of the existing laves.
A6. These sinks are historic. The design intent is to retain the historic sinks. We have had success with re-enameling of historic sinks on other projects.
Per the plumbing schedule on 00-GP01, all lavatories are to be wall hung. (Source of this reference would be helpful)
Q7. Can you extend the question cut-off date now that the bid has been extended? This is a big/dynamic project with a fair amount of questions evolving?
A7. Yes, last day to submit RFIs is August 13, 2024.
Q8. Would you consider moving the bid date to any day of the week but a Monday? Again, a big proposal effort and not having a day or 2 after a weekend is painful on our end.
A8. Yes, proposal due date is extended to Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 12:00 Mountain Time.
