About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document dated 26 September 2025 for a vehicle procurement, addressing multiple technical specifications for various machine models (5546, 5580, 5582, 5104, 5102, 5667). Key clarifications include requirements for LED overhead lighting (confirmed as a forward-facing light bar), tire and wheel specifications (agreeing to provide a front spare tire instead of rear), and door configurations for tracked vehicles. The Q&A also resolves standards compliance, with guidance to disregard top-level MVR1/MVR2 labels and instead focus on meeting the specific technical specifications detailed in the body of the document. Notable decisions include accepting 29" tires with increased ground clearance, eliminating half-door requirements when full doors have roll-down windows, and confirming that certain vehicles should include 5 tires along with their track system.

Questions and Answers 26 September 2025
1. While reviewing the specifications, I noticed the recurring item: “Supplemental LED overhead lighting w/mounting bracket dash mounted on/off switch” listed in each Excel request. Could you please clarify whether this refers to a standard dome light, or if each unit is expected to include an LED light bar?
This should be a forward facing light bar.
2. The requirements state “Supplemental LED Overhead lighting…” in line item #29.
Does the government have a size requirement for the lightbar such as 20”, 33”, or 40”? Lightbar length requirements are not specified. Please leave remarks on specification page for what is being offered and pricing difference for other options.
3. All vehicle requirement data sheets state a requirement of 1 spare rear tire and wheel. A front tire and wheel may serve better as it works on all locations of a vehicle. Due to a larger width, a rear tire and wheel will not work on the front of a vehicle. Please confirm if the government would prefer a spare front tire and wheel to be included. Agreed – please provide FRONT spare tire and wheel instead of rear.
4. With regards to the tracked vehicles under 5580 and 5582:
a. Does the user require a set of full doors and also a set of half doors if the full doors include roll-down windows? No half doors if roll down windows included.
b. Would the user be willing to remove the half door requirement if the full doors had windows and the vehicle came with air conditioning? No half doors if roll down windows included, no air conditioning.
c. Does the user require that these vehicles also include 5 tires and wheels? 4 standard plus the 1 spare rear tire and wheel from item #23? 5 tires (including 1 spare) along with track system. Line #23 should say FRONT spare tire and wheel, not rear. Please revise.
5. The vehicle being called out in 5546 has a requirement of a 30-32 in tire with a 13" ground clearance requirement. Most OEM side-by-sides in this class have 27-29" tires. Will the government accept a 29" tire with an increased 14" ground clearance? Yes
6. For machine 5546 It doesn’t specify if it needs to be MVR1 or MVR2 standards? Does it need to meet those specs? For example, being able to haul fuel in the bed and have a park brake or park in transmission? It does not need to meet the MVR 1 standard. Just meet what is on the pdf specification document. No additional requirements.
7. On machine 5580 & 5582, are removable fabric upper doors acceptable for the full doors
(enclosed cab) and summer doors options? I will have to ask the forests if this will work. If this is all the vendors can offer, please have them update the form with the difference in what is offered and what was requested.
8. There are a few units that list MVR2 on the top of the page, but it looks like most of the listed specs under that are MVR1 standards, such as ground clearance, wheel travel, etc. Are all machines supposed to be MVR1 standards or should those MVR2 specs on the sheets be updated? Units 5104, 5102, 5582, 5667 Please disregard what the form is labeled at the top, just meet the specifications in the body
