About this file
This is a detailed UTV (Utility Terrain Vehicle) specification document for the U.S. Forest Service, specifically for MVR #2 (Minimum Vehicle Requirements) Advanced Scout Vehicles. The document outlines precise technical requirements for a 2-seat fire UTV, replacing vehicle #7233, with a planned delivery date of 9/20/24. Key specifications include a minimum 970 CC liquid-cooled engine, 2 seats with 3-point seatbelts, on-demand all-wheel drive, electric power steering, full skid plates, a front winch, and various protective features designed for wildland fire and off-highway operations.
The specification is part of a larger solicitation (Solicitation Number: 1240BK25Q0096) by the Department of Agriculture Forest Service for ATV/UTV procurement, with machines to be delivered within 120 days of award. Vendors are required to provide a base model that most closely matches the detailed specifications, with options to include windshield wipers, cab heaters, UTV track systems, and enclosed cab systems. The document emphasizes compliance with the national Wildland Fire Off-Highway Vehicle Standard and requires vendors to provide documentation certifying the vehicle meets ANSI/ROHVA 1-2016 standards or the latest revision.
