About this file

This file is a detailed Minimum Vehicle Requirements (MVR) specification document for an All-Purpose Side-by-Side UTV procurement by the US Forest Service. The specification outlines precise requirements for a 4x4 Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) designed for off-highway use, specifically for wildland fire and forest service operations. Key specifications include a minimum 800 CC engine (gasoline or diesel), 3-point seatbelts, on-demand all-wheel drive, 1500# tow capacity, 600# rear bed capacity, electric power steering, full-length skid plates, and mandatory safety features like a rollover protection structure (ROPS).

The procurement is part of a larger solicitation (1240BK25Q0096) by the Department of Agriculture Forest Service to supply multiple categories of ATVs and UTVs for various purposes including personnel and cargo transport, scouting remote areas, and wildland fire operations. Vendors are required to provide a base model that most closely matches the detailed specifications, with delivery expected within 120 days of award to the Colville National Forest in Washington. The point of contact for this specification is Jerry Adams, reachable at jerry.l.adams@usda.gov or 509-684-7161, with a target delivery date of 10/8/24.
