About this file
This document is a detailed Minimum Vehicle Requirements (MVR) specification sheet for an All-Purpose Side-by-Side UTV procurement by the U.S. Forest Service. The specification outlines comprehensive requirements for a 6-seat fire utility terrain vehicle (UTV) designed for off-highway use, with specific technical specifications including engine size (minimum 800 CC), transmission type, drivetrain configuration, and mandatory safety features such as rollover protection structure, 3-point seatbelts, and electric power steering.
The procurement is part of a larger solicitation (1240BK25Q0096) for ATV/UTV procurement with multiple vehicle categories, specifically targeting MVR #1 for personnel and cargo transport. The vehicles are intended for various Forest Service applications including wildfire operations, personnel transport, and traversing challenging terrain. Vendors are required to provide a base model matching the specifications, with delivery expected within 120 days of award to the Fremont-Winema Equipment Shop in Lakeview, Oregon. The point of contact is Karl Krauter, who can be reached at Karl.krauter@usda.gov or 541-882-3470, with a target delivery date of 10/16/24.
