About this file
This document is a detailed specification sheet for a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) procurement by the U.S. Forest Service, specifically for MVR #1 (Minimum Vehicle Requirements) All-Purpose Side-by-Side for Personnel and Cargo Transport. The specification outlines 30 specific technical requirements for the UTV, including mandatory features such as a minimum 800 CC liquid-cooled engine, 2-3 seats with 3-point seatbelts, on-demand all-wheel drive, electric power steering, a 1500-pound tow capacity, and a 600-pound rear bed capacity. Key options include the potential to raise bed capacity to 1000 pounds and the ability to haul fuel in the bed.
The procurement is part of a larger solicitation (1240BK25Q0096) by the Department of Agriculture Forest Service for ATV/UTV procurement, with vehicles intended for diverse purposes including scouting high-elevation areas, hauling personnel and cargo, performing wildland fire operations, patrolling OHV trails, and transporting materials. Vendors are required to quote on the full specification document, with delivery expected within 120 days of award to the Fremont-Winema Equipment Shop in Lakeview, Oregon. The specifications are derived from the national Wildland Fire Off-Highway Vehicle Standard and emphasize safety and operational requirements for off-highway use.
