About this file

This is a Product Submittal Sheet for Diamond Mesh Lath by Clark Dietrich, submitted as part of the KSU Clendenin Building Envelope Repairs project for Kennesaw State University. The document details a galvanized, expanded steel plaster and stucco base material intended for use in interior and exterior plaster applications, including surfaces like ceilings, soffits, fascias, and ceramic tile installations. The submittal is specifically for mesh lath with two product variants: LAM 2.5 lbs. and LAM 3.4 lbs., both measuring 27" x 97" and packaged in bundles of 10 pieces, with 20 yards per bundle and 500 yards per pallet. The material is G60 galvanized steel and complies with multiple ASTM standards including A653, C841, C847, and C1063.

The product offers potential LEED v4.1 and v4 sustainability credits in categories such as Environmental Product Declarations, Sourcing of Raw Materials, Material Ingredients, and Construction and Demolition Waste Management. The submittal includes specific storage recommendations, noting that materials must be kept dry, stacked off the ground, and protected from weather and surface contamination. Limitations are noted, such as avoiding use with magnesium oxychloride cement stucco or Portland cement stucco containing calcium chloride additives. The document is part of a comprehensive submittal process for the Clendenin Building Envelope Repairs project, with technical review and recommendations provided by Epsten Group, the project's architectural and engineering firm.

Diamond Mesh Lath Galvanized, expanded steel plaster and stucco base

A superior, multi-purpose expanded steel substrate for Portland cement or widely used for interior and exterior gypsum plaster and stucco & stone reinforcement. Applications include ceilings, soffits, and fascia surfaces, and under ceramic tile in wall, ceiling, and floor applications. Metal lath is useful in general purpose applications and is the best lath available for ornamental work and for flat or contoured surfaces as well as for use as a reinforcing underlay for spray-applied fireproofing.

Expanded metal lath is formed from sheet steel that has been slit and expanded to form hundreds of

“keys” per square yard. It is proven over time to possess exceptional strength and flexibility, making it the preferred metal base requested by contractors and design professionals.

2.5# and 3.4# metal lath are available in G90 coating with a special order and lead time. Diamond metal lath are also available with a 60-Minute Grade-D asphalt paper-backing (APB) weather resistant barrier.
