About this opportunity
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), Division of Traffic Operations, has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the development, administration, and marketing of an extended Logo Signing Program and Tourist Oriented Directional Sign (TODS) program for non-interstate and non-parkway portions of the state's primary highway system. The current program consists of approximately 850 mainline background sign structures, 830 ramp sign structures, 130 TODS structures, and 28 Trailblazer structures, with around 2,025 Logo and 105 TODS participants. The successful offeror will be responsible for the construction, administration, operation, maintenance, and marketing of the programs, and will make quarterly percentage payments to KYTC of not less than 35% of gross Logo receipts and 6% of TODS receipts. The initial contract term is for 2 years, with up to 4 additional 1-year renewal options. Proposals are due by March 21, 2023, and the successful offeror must be pre-qualified in work classification F - Signs.
The RFP does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The current contractor has already collected fees for existing Logo and TODS participants through June 30, 2023 and December 31, 2023, respectively, which the new contractor will assume. No information is provided about the incumbent vendor or the potential award value or budget range for this contract opportunity.
