_7_ PROVIDE A STATEMENT OF ACT_dWWFyKo3zgQ-e71MSrA2mA: The solicitation for the construction to Renovate Hangar 885 will be a competitive Invitation for Bid (IFB) set aside for small businesses. The brand name components represent a small portion, less than 0.6% of the overall construction project that is being competed. Actions to Increase Competition: This J&A will be posted to FedBizOpps with the solicitation and potential suppliers may have the opportunity to propose compatible products for consideration.
_5_ PROVIDE A STATEMENT OF ACT_xMsHeIbKfGYdZx*NQZBzkg: The base wide fire alarm alerting and reporting system at Rickenbacker ANGB, OH is based on the Monaco brand fire alarm system. There are no known alternative control systems that are fully compatible with this system based on lessons learned and experience of the Architect of Record and design team. No additional market research was conducted for the Monaco Fire Alarm System. This document will be posted to FedBizOpps during the solicitation of the construction project. Any interested firms will have the opportunity to provide a substitute for this equipment for consideration.
_4_ UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS THA_fxPS18NzthbsRqqrY5h47Q: Monaco Fire Alarm System is required to be utilized on all 121st ARW facilities in order to comply and integrate with the current system utilized by the Base Civil Engineering Office for the buildings across the base. The use of a single product line/manufacturer enables the systematic management and seamless operation of our fire alarm systems within the facilities belonging to the 121 ARW Base Civil Engineering Squadron (BCES). Utilizing the common product line for our fire alarm system within our facilities allow for reduced staff to operate and maintain the system as well as the equipment for which it interfaces with. This result in reduced maintenance and training costs for the life cycle of the building. Departing from the standardization would not be sustainable and would be detrimental to the organization. Monaco authorized factory representative/installers have to install the system for all warranties to remain in effect. Monaco explicitly voids all warranties on the equipment and installation if not installed by an authorized installer.
_3_ BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SUPPL_UM33PhqLHArLIQSUjN*Zfw: As part of the renovation of Hangar 885 the contractor is required to procure the Monaco Fire Alarm system. This system is a single source solution for the Fire Alarm network and monitoring system. . Procure the services of Monaco authorized dealer/installer for the installation of a Monaco Fire Alarm System. This requirement consists of supplying and installing a Monaco fire protection system to be utilized by the 121st Civil Engineering Squadron, Rickenbacker ANG Base, OH. This system must be compatible with the existing Fire and Detection System (Monaco) that is already in place on Rickenbacker ANG Base. It is vital that all buildings are Point to Point (P2P) networked back to the central system.
