ES101, ES501, ES502.
Duct Section #1
1. Sheet ES101 shows new 3/500,15KV, 1 #4/0 going into existing 5" conduit(s).
Sheet ES502 shows this as a duct bank type "D3" which is 6 – 5" conduits.
What wiring is currently in these 6 conduits?
What does that existing wiring feed?
Do all 6 conduits take new 3/500, 15KV, 1 #4/0 wiring from the existing pad mounted switch "ICA-1" to existing EMH-18B ( manhole).
Duct Section #2
2. Sheet ES101 shows new 3/500,15KV, 1 #4/0 going into existing 5" conduit(s).
Sheet ES502 shows this as a duct bank type "D5" which is 10 – 5" conduits.
What wiring is currently in these 10 conduits?
What does that existing wiring feed?
Do all 10 conduits take new 3/500, 15KV, 1 #4/0 wiring from the existing EMH-18B (manhole) to the existing EMH-18C (manhole) Duct Section #3
3. Sheet ES101 shows a duct bank going from existing EMH-18C to the new 2000 KVA transformer. Sheet ES501 identifies this as a "D1" which is 2-5" conduits.
Do both of these conduits get the new 3/500, 15KV, 1 #4/0?
In closing this also leaves a summation of this: Section #1 has 6 conduits, feeding into a manhole with 10 conduits, ending in a man hole feeding 1 or 2 conduits. Is there feed thru splicing in the existing manholes that is not defined?
Duct Section #1
1. See Am-0007, revised sheet ES101. ES101 and EP601 specify that only 1 conduit is required to support the Hangar project. The existing ducts (6) have enough capacity to support the Hangar project and other future projects. Duct Section #2
2. See response to part 1. There is enough capacity in the ductbank to support the Hangar project. The information for the other ducts are not relevant to the Hangar project.
Duct Section #3
3. See response to part 1. There is enough capacity in the ductbank to support the Hangar project. The information for the other ducts are not relevant to the Hangar project.
To summarize, on sheet ES502, duct bank type D3 (all electrical ducts) eventually run alongside duct bank type D1 (all telecomm ducts) to create duct bank type D5.
These are all existing ducts created to support the current Hangar project and future projects. There is enough capacity/ducts to support the current Hangar project.

08 34 16.10.
Each hangar door is required to be approximately 64 feet long. In order to fabricate the doors and ship them to Hawaii, manufacturers will need to split the 64 ft long door section into multiple pieces. Please confirm this is acceptable.
If acceptable, the 64 ft door section will be divided into 3 pieces. There will then be a vertical support every 21 feet. The windows are grouped in 3 groups per door. The problem is that this job is in a very high windload area and if a center column has to be added to each 21 ft door section, -then the window sizes and layout will have to be changed slightly.
-The height of the windows should also be broken into 2 because it look like the windows are 10 to 12ft high. This makes the girt spacing on the hangar door very large and then the upper window frame member and lower frame member will have to be very sturdy.
-This is like integrating a curtain wall into a hangar door or even "Kalwall". The windows of 20ft wide x 10ft high will be very heavy and will rely on the hangar door framing to support them. At about 100psf wind pressure the 20ft x 10ft window will have a load of 20,000 lbs. or 10 tons. Change the window size to windows of 5ft x 5ft and you can create the same visual effect but you will create a more economical window and hangar door.
Please advise if the window size can be reduced to 5'x5'.
See Am-0005, revised sheet A-602.
Section 41 22 13.13 – Bridge Cranes.
Is the RFI/EMI shielding and drum grounding included?
Would it be acceptable to tie the standard overload to a light and/or bell, however it is not a load cell?
Recommend verifying with the selected vendor regarding bridge crane capabilities for RFI/EMI shielding and drum grounding method to meet the specifications.
The specifications do not allow tying to a light and/or bell.
S-361.
Confirm D1/S-361 should be Option 8 and D4/S-361 should be priced as base.
See Am-0007, revised sheet S-361
Section 00 60 00, Requests for Information - Page 2
Q & A 47 – Soils Report.
Answer to Q 47 indicates that soils report is not part of the bid documents!
Considering the project's delivery method "design bid build" project, it is very common to provide available info such as soils report at least for reference only to allow all bidders to be familiar with subsurface site conditions.
It is unusual to learn that the owner has such vital information that affects the cost and is not willing to share it with the bidders. This case may force all bidders to add unnecessary hefty contingency to cover unknown which may escalate the cost of this project. Additionally may cause future justifiable dispute / claim after award under "The Superior knowledge doctrine".
If soils report will not be provided, at minimum please provide guidance for all bidders to base their bid on:
(a) Is onsite soil suitable for re-use for site grading, structural fill & trench backfill?
Or shall we figure using all imported material for all three locations?
(b) Is onsite soil cohesive and has high swell value that cannot be used even in landscape areas?
See section 31 00 00, para 1.2.1 and 1.2.2.
The paragraphs indicate onsite fine-grained soils are unsatisfactory materials.
Per specifications, unsatisfactory materials shall not be reused.
AG601, AG502.
Sign 109-2 for Room 145 (Recycle Room) is called out to be Type H on the Signage Schedule, which is the exterior building address sign. Please confirm that the signage type required should be Type N, as shown in AG502.
See Am-0007, revised sheet AG601
08 51 13, 08 91 00.
Specification 08 51 13 section 1.10.2 (Aluminum Windows), states that the exterior windows must meet the Windborne-Debris-Impact Resistant Missile-Impact Performance requirements, but the Metal Louvers specs (08 91 00) do not mention this requirement. Please clarify if louvers should also provide the same rating.
See Am-0007, revised section 08 91 00, para 2.3.c.
41 22 13.13.
Request attendance at all pre-construction and coordination meetings to develop a consolidated list of contractor equipment needs. Specifically boom, articulating and scissor lifts in order to reduce costs and increase efficient use of machines between contractors.
Additionally pre-coordination will ensure ANSI 92.20 certified safety equipment is available for the duration of the project.
Equipment needs and coordination is contractor's responsibility under contractor's means and methods.

A-102, A-201.
Seeking clarification on expansion joint locations.
As we understand it, the expansion joint begins vertically approximately on gridline E and 0.9, and ends horizontally on gridline 13.1, as can be seen on drawing A-102.
The exp. joint then transitions to the horizontal plane and runs the length of the hanger building, as can be seen on elevation detail C1/A-201. Please provide a detail of how this transition occurs.
Once joint travels the length of the horizontal run, we do not see it connecting to another expansion joint. Does this joint terminate at the roof, or does it transition downward and continue in the exterior wall?
As we understand it, there is another vertical expansion joint is on this side of the building, on gridlines H.1 and 13.1. Is this expansion joint supposed to connect to the other referenced 3"" horizontal joint on detail A1/A-201, or is it isolated?
If connected, please clarify how.
