1. QUESTION: Room duct drawings are located on sheets MH-501 and -502. However, the following rooms are not marked with a designation. Please clarify:

a. First floor

i. 103 A&B

ii. 121A&B

iii. 126 A&B

b. Second Floor

i. 226 A&B

ANSWER:

Detail-1 “HVAC CONSTRUCTION DETAIL TYPICAL 1ST FL WEST SUITES” is for room 103A&B (and other rooms of the same type on west side 104A&B ~ 110A&B, 112A&B, and 114A&B ~ 119A&B).

121A is a communication closet.

121B is an electrical closet.

Detail-5 “HVAC CONSTRUCTION DETAIL TYPICAL 1ST FL NORTH SUITES” is for room 126A&B (and other rooms of the same type on north side 128A&B, 129A&B, 130A&B, and 131A&B).

2. QUESTION: Can you supply any As-built drawings or at least elevation drawings of the building?

ANSWER: Yes, see Attachment 14 (NS000007-8P BARRACK UPGRADE COMPILED).

However, it is the contractor’s responsibility to field verify all existing site conditions and notify COR upon discovery of any differences.

3. QUESTION: Can you supply any As-built drawings for electrical?

ANSWER: Yes, see answer to Q2.

4. QUESTION: Specifications for piping, hangers, identification, controls, test and balance, or HVAC equipment are not included. Can these be provided?

ANSWER: Reference Attachment 8. Mention specifications are included in the solicitation.

5. QUESTION: Can you provide HVAC controls make and the name and contact information for the control’s contractor for the base?

ANSWER: Fort Sill uses the TRANE ENSEMBLE system for controls on HVAC systems.

6. QUESTION: Has any hazardous materials testing been performed? Without clarification we will obviously have to exclude testing and remediation.

ANSWER: Redacted copy of asbestos report is provided at Attachment 15. However, the contractor is to field verify all site conditions and notify the Government upon discovery of any asbestos containing materials.

7. QUESTION: Can new hydronic piping be installed on existing hangers?

ANSWER: No, new hangers must be provided.

8. QUESTION: At the site visit we were unable to see the West and North wings of the basement. Are these areas a full basement or just a crawlspace? If a crawlspace, how much space or clearance?

ANSWER: Crawlspace. A set of as-built drawings is provided at Attachment 14. However, the contractor is to field verify all existing site conditions.

9. QUESTION: Is there a current asbestos survey or report for Building 4702? Upon the site visit on March 8th, it appeared that the duct insulation and boiler insulation in the basement contains asbestos along with some pipe insulation above the lay-in ceilings in the corridors of the 1st and 2nd floors. If these are positive for asbestos, abatement will be required prior to any demolition being performed.

ANSWER: Redacted copy of asbestos report is provided at Attachment 15. However, the contractor is to field verify all site conditions and notify the Government upon discovery of any asbestos containing materials.

10. QUESTION: Has an asbestos inspection report been completed for the facility? Do we know if the duct insulation and tape in the basement are positive, as well as if the mastic over the duct seams?

ANSWER: Redacted copy of asbestos report is provided at Attachment 15. However, the contractor is to field verify all site conditions and notify the Government upon discovery of any asbestos containing materials.

11. QUESTION: Please confirm if within building 4702 an office space for GC use will be allowed to include all utilities provided at no charge?

ANSWER: Yes, the use of office space for GC within BLDG 4702 is allowed. Refer to contract specification document “01 10 00 SUMMARY OF WORK”, section “1.18 UTILITIES” for utility use.

12. QUESTION: Please advise if an additional 2nd site visit can be allowed?

ANSWER: Reference Amendment 0001. 2nd site visit was conducted 15 March 2023.

13. QUESTION: Is the intent that there will not be a need to demo and replace any of these drywall ceilings. If so, please provide gypsum board specifications and assemblies at the areas.

ANSWER: Yes, the intent is to maintain the existing ceilings. A set of as-built drawings (with wall details) are provided at Attachment 14. However, contractor is to field verify all existing site conditions.

14. QUESTION: When is the last date that the existing chiller was in operation? Since it is set to be reused was curious if any major issues can be expected.

ANSWER: The existing chiller is currently in use. The contractor is to notify the Government upon discovery of any issues.

15. QUESTION: Can Victaulic fittings be used on Hydronic steel piping?

ANSWER: Yes, must meet specifications. Contractor shall submit manufacturer’s product data and specifications to COR for approval prior to installation. Refer to the contract specification documents “23 20 00 HEATING AND COOLING PIPING” for requirements.

16. QUESTION: Can Propress fittings be used on Hydronic copper piping?

ANSWER: Yes, must meet specifications. Contractor shall submit manufacturer’s product data and specifications to COR for approval prior to installation. Refer to contract specification documents “23 20 00 HEATING AND COOLING PIPING” for requirements.

17. QUESTION: Will there be chemical added to the hydronic system?

ANSWER: Yes, cooling water is to be 15% propylene glycol and refer to the contract drawings and specification document Fort Sill, Oklahoma Directorate of Public Works Air Cooled Chiller Options #4 and #5.

18. QUESTION: Are the existing Backflow preventers for hydronic water to be reused? I see none located on equip sch.

ANSWER: No, new backflow preventers must be provided as per the Fort Sill Mechanical Systems Design Guide. The contractor is to submit manufacturer’s product data and specifications to COR for approval prior to installation.

19. QUESTION: Will Duct Air Leak Testing be required for any portion of newly installed Ductwork.

ANSWER: Yes, all ductwork is to be tested. Refer to the contract specification documents “23 05 93 TESTING, ADJUSTING, AND BALANCING” and “23 31 00 DUCT AND DUCT ACCESSORIES” for requirements.

20. QUESTION: Will all the lay in ceiling in the hallways be removed so we can install new conduit wire to new FCUs throughout the building?

ANSWER: At the contractor’s discretion at “No additional cost to the government”. It is the government’s intent to have the contractor remove ceiling tiles as necessary to install conduit and wire. If the contractor wants to take the ceiling grid down to install conduit and wiring, then that is at their expense to remove and install.

21. QUESTION: If all the ceiling is removed in hallways, we will have to remove and reinstall existing FA devices in the ceiling. Will this require pretesting and final testing to certify the system when we are finished with work?

ANSWER: Yes, all devices in the hallways will have to be tested (both pretested and final tested).

22. QUESTION: Is there any new fire alarm that needs to be added to this system? If so, do we need to provide shop drawings with an FPE stamp showing new work?

ANSWER: Yes, FPE stamped shop drawings will be required to determine if current back-up battery size is sufficient with newly added devices. Specification Section 28 31 76 is incorporated into the contract.

23. QUESTION: On sheet E9 it shows to install a 240v heavy duty safety switch at each FCU location, on sheet MH-603 the FCU schedule shows the rating on each fan to be 115 volts, can we install a motor rated toggle switch in a four-square box with a RS cover in lieu of the 240V heavy duty safety switch? This will be less expensive, more efficient, and take up less room in the small areas where the FCUs are installed. Please advise.

ANSWER: No. Contractor shall install new safety switches in accordance with drawings and specifications.

24. QUESTION: It says to plan for the building to be occupied and coordinate accordingly… how many rooms/ floors could we potentially have?

ANSWER: The building will be unoccupied. The contractor does not need to coordinate.

25. QUESTION: Keynote 1 and 2 on MH-100 calls for a 100-gallon buffer tank… there is only reference for a buffer tank in the schedule… is this the same thing? If the intent is the same, the TACO tank listed is only 23 gallons when you look at the product data. (2) 100-gallon tanks might be tough to fit in that mechanical room.

ANSWER: Key notes 1 and 2 on MH-100 are for 100-gallon buffer tanks. The 23-gallon tank listed on the schedule on MH-603 is for XT 1-3 shown on Detail-1 of MH-500.

26. QUESTION: It mentioned vibration isolation on equipment. Is this only for the equipment in the Mechanical room, or for all the FCU’s to be installed as well? Does the vibration isolation need to be an engineered system?

ANSWER: Provide vibration isolation for FCUs as per manufacturer’s recommendations.

27. QUESTION: Will the condensate drains be tied to the sanitary sewer in each bathroom?

ANSWER: Yes. See General Note #27 on M-001.

28. QUESTION: Fire alarm is supposed to be connected to the controls and shut down the FCU’s.

Can the government verify any added relays would not overload the existing FA panel. Also, would the relays have to be addressable to indicate where the fault is?

ANSWER: Contractor must provide method of shutting down FCU’s before government can determine if existing fire alarm panel will be overloaded. Yes, the relays would have to be addressable to indicate where the fault is.

29. QUESTION: Where the concrete is to be added onto the existing mechanical pad area… C/501 note 3 Will the Government accept doweling to the existing slab?

ANSWER: Yes

30. QUESTION: What Brand/Model number power meter is required for this installation?

ANSWER: Power meter shall be similar to Square D Powerlogic power meter, catalog number PM820. Meter needs to meet specifications called out in Fort Sill Electrical Requirements, section

2.11 Metering.

31. QUESTION: Will the Contractor or the utility company be providing the power meter and CT’s?

ANSWER: The Contractor shall provide the power meter and CT’s.

32. QUESTION: Will the boiler require an emergency power off button in the mechanical room?

ANSWER: Yes, as required by Fort Sill Mechanical Systems Design guide.

33. QUESTION: Per E7 Note 5, starters and safety switches shall be mounted on galvanized mounting racks. During the site visit it was determined that there is minimal space for equipment in the access hatches. Can these electrical Items be mounted on the stud of the wall or sheetrock to save space?

ANSWER: No. Contractor shall provide new galvanized mounting racks in accordance with drawings and specifications.

34. QUESTION: On M-001, Note 1 under “Fire Safety Notes” states that penetrations in fire-resistive walls and partitions shall be fire stopped using approved systems. What are the current fire ratings of each wall?

ANSWER: See Attachment 14 as-builts drawings.

35. QUESTION: Is the contractor expected to have to perform any hazardous material testing and abatement? Is there an existing hazardous material analysis report that can be distributed?

ANSWER: Redacted copy of asbestos report is provided at Attachment 15. However, the contractor is to field verify all site conditions and notify the Government upon discovery of any asbestos containing materials.

36. QUESTION: Will Bldg 4702 be occupied during construction? If so, will phasing be required to complete blocks of work within specific regions of the building?

ANSWER: No, the facility will be unoccupied.

37. QUESTION: To ensure the replacement of the existing boiler with a new condensing boiler meets current code and safety requirements, as well as NFPA criteria for a non-confined space, does the Government have any further direction or specific requirements concerning the update of the mechanical room? It may be necessary to clarify if there are any additional codes, standards, or regulations that need to be followed and if there are any specific requirements for this design and layout of the updated mechanical room.

ANSWER: Refer to “23 52 00 HEATING BOILERS AND ACCESSORIES”. All equipment is to be installed as per manufacturer’s recommendations. The contractor is to notify the COR upon discovery of any overlooked regulations or unforeseen site conditions during construction.

38. QUESTION: What updates are required for the entire mechanical room to meet current code and safety requirements when replacing the existing boiler with a new condensing boiler?

(examples: emergency stop at entry, combustion air supply and ventilation, etc.)

ANSWER: Refer to “23 52 00 HEATING BOILERS AND ACCESSORIES”. All equipment is to be installed as per manufacturer’s recommendations.

39. QUESTION: Regarding 1.3A Principal Features states to inspect the existing natural gas line for further use. What is the definition, degree/level, means and methods for inspecting the existing natural gas line for further use? What factors are to be considered for evaluation?

ANSWER: Refer to Keynote-1 on MH-500.

40. QUESTION: Regarding 1.3A Principal Features it states to clean the masonry chimney for reuse. What proper engineering procedures and considerations should be taken into account to determine if an existing chimney can be used as a chase for the flue piping if the specified boiler cannot be directly vented into the existing chimney? And how should this be addressed during the cleaning of the masonry chimney for reuse?

ANSWER: A boiler of type which can be installed under existing chimney must be selected. The chimney and boiler flue are to be cleaned and prepared as per manufacturer’s recommendations.

Refer to the contract specifications for the codes and regulations (“23 52 00 HEATING BOILERS AND ACCESSORIES”). The contractor is to notify the COR upon discovery of any overlooked requirements or unforeseen site conditions.

41. QUESTION: Regarding 1.3A Principal Features it states to remove geothermal equipment such as the heat pump, pumps, and expansion tanks. When removing these items is the contractor to assume any lines to the geothermal field will be capped and abandoned in place?

If so, what are the proposed procedures for doing so?

ANSWER: Piping is to be abandoned in place. Saw off and capped 6 inches above the floor in the mechanical room. Reference demo note 16 on MD-500.

42. QUESTION: Regarding 1.3A Principal Features, please provide further direction on what the expected methods are for recalibrating the chiller for reuse.

ANSWER: The chiller is to be recalibrated as per manufacturer’s recommendations.

Furthermore, the codes and regulations listed on the contract specifications (“23 05 93 TESTING, ADJUSTING, AND BALANCING”, “23 08 00 COMMISSIONING OF HVAC”, “23 09 10

HEATING, VENTILATING, AND AIR CONDITIONING”, “23 64 00 PACKAGED WATER

CHILLERS”).

43. QUESTION: Regarding sheet MH-600 Note 1:

For clarity, would the government please identify the exact locations that this does and does not apply?

ANSWER: All ductwork is to be insulated. Demo

44. QUESTION: Regarding sheet MH-500 note 11:

Previously referenced in question 40 above, can the government provide any further remarks or direction on this?

ANSWER: A boiler of type which can be installed under existing chimney must be selected. The chimney and boiler flue are to be cleaned and prepared as per manufacturer’s recommendations.

Refer to the contract specifications for the codes and regulations (“23 52 00 HEATING BOILERS AND ACCESSORIES”). The contractor is to notify the COR upon discovery of any overlooked requirements or unforeseen site conditions.

45. QUESTION: Regarding sheet MH-602 Heating water piping diagrams, please provide clarification on whether the heating water piping diagrams in MH-602 include an end of loop bypass or three-way valves as they may be important for maintaining minimum flow requirements for the boiler in low load conditions and preventing cooling of the circulation piping system. It is noted the Endura boiler does not have a minimum flow requirement and will automatically shut down safely in case of low or zero flow, but what measures need to be taken to maintain recommended design flow to ensure adequate heat delivery and prevent high temperature limit trips?

ANSWER: (The Fulton Installation, Operation and Maintenance Manual Endura, Section 2-10, page 16 states “Do not install three-way mixing vales or minimum temperature protection: This boiler does not have a minimum return water.” and “Install system vales(s) at or after the last coils(s), do not install bypass valves directly after the secondary (system) pump(s).”) MH-602 does not include three-way vales. However, use a differential pressure bypass at the end of the heating loop as shown on MH-700 for adequate operation of heating boiler while providing the minimum flow of 8 GPM (or higher as required by the manufacturer). Any other measures must be installed as per manufacturer’s recommendations. In such case, the contractor is to submit product data to COR for approval.

46. QUESTION: Regarding sheet MH-603 New 30-ton Chiller Note 1 calls out for a 100-gallon buffer tank installed in mechanical room. It is our understanding that a 100-gallon buffer tank is to be added to the existing chiller system as well. Please clarify if there will be one or two new 100-gallon buffer tanks installed in the basement mechanical room.

ANSWER: There are two 100-gallon buffer tanks to installed. As for the existing 70-ton chiller, install the 100-gallon buffer tank (with heat tracing and insulations) in the mechanical room on the return side as shown on the “OUTSIDE CHILLER CONTROL DIAGRAM” on MH-700. As for the new 30-ton chiller, include the 100-gallon buffer tank in the unit (with heat tracing and insulations) if the manufacturer provides it as the factory option. In case the manufacturer does not provide the option, install the buffer tank in the mechanical room following the same procedure as the existing 70-ton chiller.

47. QUESTION: Regarding sheet MH-700 Outside Chiller Control Diagram & Sequence of Operation, it states the chilled water system consists of 70-ton (OC-1) and 30 ton (OC-2) air cooled outside chiller units, coupled with dedicated variable flow chilled water pumps. With a 30-ton variable flow capable chiller selected to serve a single coil unit with a 3-way valve configuration and a variable pump connected to the dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS), it is important to consider maintaining the minimum flow and operating in low load conditions, even with inclusion of a buffer tank. Can the government please provide further direction?

What provisions will be required to maintain the 33.40 GM minimum flow rate required for the 30-ton chiller to operate safely and effectively in low load conditions? What measures are to be taken to ensure the minimum flow rate is maintained in the system? Further, what is the expected load profile for the single coil unit that will be served by the 30-ton chiller, and how will this impact the system’s operation and efficiency?

ANSWER: Any measures beyond what are listed in the project designs are to be installed as per manufacturer’s recommendations. In such case, the contractor is to submit product data to the COR for approval.

48. QUESTION: The demolition required for this project will involve a large amount of the wall finishes (to include tile, wallpaper, sisal, etc.) and millwork to be removed for access to piping and ductwork. The Government provided documents do not address any finishes. Is it the intent of the Government that contractors are to replace all removed finishes with in-kind material?

ANSWER: A set of as-built drawings (with wall details) are provided, see Attachment 14.

However, the contractor is to field-verify all existing site conditions.

49. QUESTION: If the contractor is to be required to replace damaged material with like kind, is the Government providing an as-built finish schedule?

ANSWER: Yes, the contractor is to replace damaged material with like kind. A set of as-built drawings are provided, see Attachment 14. However, the contractor is to field-verify all existing site conditions.

50. QUESTION: If like kind material is to be installed to all damaged or removed products and these products are no longer manufactured, is the Government willing to accept substitutions to match as close as possible?

ANSWER: In such cases, the contractor is to submit product data to the COR for approval.

51. QUESTION: Will this building remain occupied or be 100% vacant?

ANSWER: The facility will be 100% vacant. The contractor does not need to coordinate with the facility manager.

52. QUESTION: Can damaged wallpaper be replaced with texture and paint?

ANSWER: Yes, texture and paint will be on the same “PLANE”, example door frame to door frame, corner to corner, corner to door frame, etc. See Sheet Note on MH-100, MH-101, MH-102, MH-501, AND MH 502..

53. QUESTION: It is our understanding the Fire Alarm panel is obsolete, and no replacement components can be acquired. Is the Government expecting a total replacement of the FA system or will the Government provide replacement components?

ANSWER: If the newer fire alarm components are not compatible with the existing fire alarm panel, the scope of work will be amended to replace the fire alarm system. See revised statement of work and specification 28 31 76.

54. QUESTION: Are confined space permits required for work in the basement or crawl spaces?

ANSWER: Yes, all OSHA and EM-385-1 confined space requirements must be followed for crawl spaces.

55. QUESTION: There are no specifications or submittal requirements for any finishes? Will these be provided?

ANSWER: Yes. See specification 06 20 00.

56. QUESTION: Architectural- Are Building Code Plans available for the building that indicates Fire Rated Partitions and Floor Rating so that location of fire dampers can be determined and were fire caulking is required?

ANSWER: A set of as-built drawings are provided, see Attachment 14. However, the contractor is to field-verify all site conditions. Most current version of all required codes are regulations are to be used throughout the project.

57. QUESTION: Architectural-Plans don’t indicate removal and replacement of (25) vertical piping and ductwork chases and the removal of casework in closet, breakrooms and laundries required to perform mechanical work. Will Contractor just be required to replace and repair to match? Will removal and reinstallation of the existing casework be allowed? Will chases require any additional fire rating than currently installed?

ANSWER: Yes, the contractor is to replace the vertical piping, ductwork, and casework if required. New units must be installed. The fire rating must be up to currently NFPA 101 requirements with a 1-hour fire rating.

58. QUESTION: Architectural- Removal of the bathroom and shower room sheetrock ceilings will be required to replace the existing fan coils. piping and ductwork for each set of dorm rooms. Existing access for maintaining the fan coils is also not sufficient for fan coil maintenance. Is the expectation that the new fan coil will be 100% maintainable from below thru fan coil unit mounted access panel?

ANSWER: No, provide access panel as required to access valves, smoke dampers, fire dampers, balance dampers, balancing valves, air vents, drains, duct coils, filter, air flow monitoring stations, equipment. Ensure adequate access for servicing, filter replacement, and coil replacement.

Sufficiently sized, safe access must be provided for the maintenance of valves, variable air volume (VAV) boxes, dampers, controls and other HVAC components. See UFC 3-410-01.

59. QUESTION: Architectural- Replacement of the fan coil ductwork and air devices for the dorm rooms will require access into the existing fur-downs in the dorm space. Will repair and repainting of just the fur-down to match existing be sufficient?

ANSWER: Repair fur down in accordance with 06 20 00 Finish Carpentry and paint to match existing wall.

60. QUESTION: Mechanical-Insulation thickness requirements not specified for piping and ductwork replacement. Will ASHRAE 90.1 requirements be sufficient?

ANSWER: Ductworks are to be insulated with 1” thick external thermal insulation. Hydronic piping shall be ¾ inch size. ASHRAE 90.1 requirements will suffice for R values.

61. QUESTION: Dedicated outside air ductwork in the crawl space is indicated to be lined.

ANSWER: No, they are to be externally insulated with 1” thermos-insulation.

62. QUESTION: Mechanical-Can fan coil overflows drains be routed to the shower as currently installed or is a drain overflow float/switch required with fan coil shutdown required? Or are both required?

ANSWER: Both, see note #1 on fan coil schedule on MH-603.

63. QUESTION: Mechanical- Existing Fan coils don’t appear to have filters. Is the requirement to install filters in the existing units or at the new return air grilles?

ANSWER: Provide each FCU with 1-inch throw away filters, see note #3 on fan coil schedule on MH-603.

64. QUESTION: Mechanical- New DOAS does not have provision for Pre-Heat Coil freeze protection. Existing DOAS unit utilized Face-and-Bypass Dampers for coil freeze protection.

Will a pumped coil Pre-Heat Coil run-around pump, to maintain coil flow for freeze protection, be acceptable alternative to a Face-and-Bypass solution?

ANSWER: Refer to “PREHEAT COIL OPERATION” and “FREEZE STAT” of “DOA CONTROL DIAGRAM” and “DEDICATED OUTSIDE AIR UNIT (DOA-1)”, on the drawing sheet MH-701.

65. QUESTION: Mechanical- DOAS system that put the air directly into a Fan Coil unit, like is shown in the RFP Drawings, are very difficult to balance and confirm airflows. For Force installations, the UFC 3-410-01 recommends that DOAS distribute airflow directly to zones without passing through light-duty equipment like fan coil units. Can DOAS supply air be directly ducted to the space?

ANSWER: No.

66. QUESTION: Mechanical- Will the contractor be responsible for providing temporary heating and cooling for the project?

ANSWER: The facility is going to be unoccupied. However, the contractor is responsible for providing heating to prevent pipes from freezing during extreme cold conditions.

67. QUESTION: Electrical- RFP Drawings indicate installing a new independent Safety Switch for each fan coil unit. If manufacturer installed Safety switch is provided with the fan coil units, will an external safety switch be required? A manufacturer safety switch is typical for this type of equipment and there is physically no space, above the ceiling available to locate independent switch.

ANSWER: Yes, Contractor shall provide new external safety switches as a means of “local disconnect” for maintenance purposes.

68. QUESTION: Electrical- RFP Drawings indicate installing of new exposed Electrical Panels in the lobbies to serve replacement fan coil units. If calculation prove that the existing electrical panels, wiring and breakers can be reused to serve the fan coils, can requirement for new panel be deleted? Existing electrical panels are only 20 years old and are in good shape.

ANSWER: No, Contractor shall provide new Electrical Panels in accordance with drawings and specifications.

69. QUESTION: Electrical- Will a CO detector be required to be installed in the existing Mechanical room to meet the UFC requirements?

ANSWER: Yes, a CO detector will be required in the existing mechanical room and will have to be monitored and send a CO detection signal to E911.

70. QUESTION: New electrical panel that is shown on drawing E11, where is it located in the building?

ANSWER: The new panel location shown on drawing E7 for new panel “A” and drawing E8 for new panel “B”.

71. QUESTION: The base staffing qualifications differ based on these separate specifications and solicitation requirements. Please advise if a separate Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, Site Safety and Health Officer and Temporary Environmental Control Manager is required? Also reconfirm if any of the certified staff members are allowed dual hatted responsibilities?

ANSWER: The superintendent may be the SSHO but cannot be the QC manager or alternate QC manager. The QC manager may be the SSHO. The SSHO may be the superintendent, QC manager, or Environmental manager but cannot have more than one additional role/job/title.

72. QUESTION: Removal and replacement the mechanical equipment, ductwork and piping, will require portions of ceilings and walls to gain access. Some areas that need to be removed to gain proper access have vinyl wall coverings and chair rails. The RFP documents do not discuss requirements for patching and replacing finishes where removed. Can you please advise if patching is required as part of this task order, or if it will be handled in a future task order?

ANSWER: All incidental work and damages are to be repaired matching existing conditions.

73. QUESTION: Removal and replacement the mechanical equipment, ductwork and piping, will require cabinets and sinks to be removed in certain areas. Is the contractor required to reinstall cabinets and sinks that need to be removed to execute the scope of work described?

QUESTION: Spec section 09 90 00 Painting Summary calls for “Surface preparation and painting for interior previously painted surfaces as scheduled.” The project documents do not include a schedule of areas to receive paint. Is the governments intent for this section to apply to areas that require patching?

76. QUESTION: MH601 note 1 states that auto air vent in “very” high points of distribution system. Should this read “every” or “at highest point?”

77. QUESTION: MH-100 on the west side of the mechanical room shows the line sizes reduced from 1”- ¾ “ before the branch isolation valves. The east side of the mechanical room shows the

ANSWER: 1” lines are for chilled water lines and ¾” lines are for heating water lines. There is no such pipe size reduction after the branch isolation valves.

78. QUESTION: M-502, detail 211, 227, 224 shows an auxiliary line running into the bath tub.

M-501, detail 122 shows dumping or tying into the tub’s drain. It cannot tie directly into a drain.

Is it showing an indirect drain under the tub? Please clarify.

ANSWER: Install an auxiliary condensate drain line per IMC 307.2.3 paragraph 2.
