About this file

This amendment to a solicitation provides additional information for a site visit related to a construction contract opportunity. The project involves constructing an aircraft maintenance hangar at Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Florida to support a new helicopter training system. Offerors must submit names of attendees to the site visit by September 9th and bring identification for a background check. The organized site visit will take place on September 14th, with check-in starting at 7:30am and an in-brief at 10am, followed by a site tour and exit by noon. Offerors must acknowledge this amendment in writing.

The associated construction contract opportunity is for a fixed price incentive contract to build the P286 Aircraft Maintenance Hangar. The general scope involves constructing a drive-through high bay hangar with additional spaces for crews, training, administration, networks and food. Construction will use steel framing on shallow foundations with exterior walls of brick, metal panels and translucent panels. Interior walls will be CMU or gypsum board. A metal roof and two hangar doors will also be provided. The Navy is the contracting agency.
