This document contains a safety data sheet and narrative for a federal construction contract opportunity. The contract is for a fixed price incentive construction project to build an Advanced Helicopter Training System compliant aircraft maintenance hangar at Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Florida. The hangar will optimize space for 37 new helicopters, maintenance crews, and three helicopter pilot training squadrons. It will consist of a drive-through high bay with additional spaces for training, administration, networking, and a limited food area. Construction will include a steel-framed structure on shallow foundations with brick veneer, insulated metal and translucent wall panels. Interior walls will be concrete masonry or metal studs with gypsum board. A low-slope metal roof and two hangar doors will also be provided. Offerors must submit safety data and narratives describing their safety management system, subcontractor evaluation process, and oversight of subcontractor safety compliance.
