About this file
This document contains sample evaluation cards for simulator acceptance testing of the TH-73A Advanced Helicopter Training System. The cards outline test procedures and criteria for verifying the functionality of GPS approaches, including LPV, LNAV/VNAV, LP, LNAV, LNAV+V, ILS, and VOR approaches, in the TH-57C simulator. Key items addressed include verifying proper GPS annunciations, mode transitions, lateral and vertical guidance display, approach path tracking, holding patterns, approach downgrades and aborts. The evaluation also includes procedures for loading instrument procedures and frequencies into the GTN navigator and verifying it does not load them into other avionics. This appears to be an appendix to the Performance Work Statement for the Navy's Advanced Helicopter Training System contract to provide Aircrew Training Services on the TH-73A at NAS Whiting Field.

a. Depart KNDZ to the west. Once airborne, load the LPV to
KPNS Runway 17 using the "Vectors" transition.
b. Ensure GPS sensitivity (HSI/CDI) scaling changes appropriately from ENR to TERM to APR. When within 30NM of either the departure or arrival airport, GTN will remain in TERM and not be in ENR mode. Ensure GTN and both pilot and copilot annunciator lights change.
c. Ensure GPS changes to LPV once established on FAC.
d. Ensure lateral and vertical guidance appear as appropriate on both HSI and CDI response. Ensure the GTN and KNS-81 don't have the KPNS Localizer frequency active in either NAV 1 or NAV 2 to ensure the appropriate signal is being sent to the HSI and CDI
e. Execute LPV approach using vertical guidance. Ensure deviation bars are appropriate to the position in relation to the FAC.
f. Ensure that at the Missed Approach Point, the GTN displays the "Missed Approach Waypoint Reached" popup box and MAPR on the screen.
g. Overfly runway threshold and choose to remain suspended.
C 2 LPV Approach using a specific Transition Point (KPNS Runway 17)

HSI and CDI
C 5 GTN Holding (WABEN on KPNS Runway 17)
a. Depart KNDZ to KPNS or use the IOS station to position the aircraft to a point 5 NM east of WABEN at 1,700'
b. Once airborne, load and activate the LPV Runway 17 using
WABEN with holding as the transition
c. Approaching WABEN, ensure GTN proides a countdown and appropriate turn anticipation to enter holding as depicted

C 6 LNAV/VNAV Approach (KNDZ Runway 32)
a. Depart KNDZ to the west or use IOS station to reposition aircraft to a point 5NM E of IVORY at 1,700'
b. Once airborne, load the LNAV/VNAV approach to KNDZ Runway 32 using the "Vectors" transition. Verify FAC extends into restricted area
c. Ensure GPS sensitivity (HSI/CDI) scaling changes appropriately from ENR to TERM to APR. If the aircraft is within 30NM of either the departure or arrival airport, the GTN will remain in TERM and not be in ENR mode. Ensure GTN and both pilot and copilot annunciator lights change appropriately
d. Ensure GPS changes to LNAV once established on FAC
e. Ensure lateral guidane appears on both HSI and CDI. Ensure
