CONTINUATION SHEET

1. QUESTION: We cannot find the finish schedule for the new mechanical building to be constructed in this project. Please advise.

ANSWER: Floor to be sealed concrete, base to be RB-1 rubber base, wall finish to be painted

PNT-1.

2. QUESTION: The contractor laydown area shown is not large enough. We will need an area for 10 40’ Connex boxes plus an area for Roofing Materials.

ANSWER: Currently, the lay down area provided is the only area available.

3. QUESTION: We will need an area for 8-10 40’ Connex Boxes for the Storage of Furniture.

How far away will this location be from the CDC?

ANSWER: The storage of furniture must be climate controlled. The storage does not have to be on site at or near the building.

4. QUESTION: Note 2 Finish Schedule Key Notes, I-601/ Windows are to receive Single Layer Roller Shade. Is the shade just for Exterior windows, or interior windows as well?

ANSWER: Exterior windows only.

5. QUESTION: Section 08 33 24, para 2.1 says that the OH coiling doors are to be constructed of aluminum. Para 2.2.2.1 specifies a 54 PSF wind load. Aluminum doors don’t meet the specified wind load. Other options are available. Please see subcontractor information below for more details.

ANSWER: Corrosion resistant material required. If required loading cannot be met with aluminum, stainless is an acceptable alternate.

6. QUESTION: Specification 28 31 76 Para 3.7 indicates that Audibility and Intelligibility tests are to be performed. This is an existing system that has been previously commissioned and tested.

There are no floor plan changes or changes to room finishes and the existing devices are to be reinstalled after ceiling replacement. The only devices that are indicated to be added or relocated are smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Please confirm that audibility and intelligibility testing is required.

ANSWER: Audibility and intelligibility testing is only required in Admin 120 where the new speaker/strobe is being provided.

6. QUESTION: Regarding the existing sheetrock ceiling that is above the lay-in tiles, the drawings state the following on page AD104 General Demolition Notes #5 “EXISTING GYPSUM

BOARD CEILINGS ABOVE SUSPENDED CEILING SYSTEMS TO REMAIN. INSPECT

CEILINGS FOR DAMAGE AND CONTINUITY OF FIRE RATINGS AND SEPARATIONS.

PATCH AND REPAIR AREAS AS NEEDED. (ASSUME APPROXIMATELY 3% OR 1000

SQUARE FEET)” If it remains, how do we get the old duct and equipment down and install the new steel, catwalk, duct and equipment above it?

ANSWER: Ceiling is to remain in the final condition. Any temporary removal for access is contractor means and methods. Sequencing, access, and restoration are contractor's responsibility.

No design change is required.

7. QUESTION: When the new FCU’s are installed in the attic, there will be no access to service or change filters without a catwalk going to it. On page MH102 Plan Notes #1 PROVIDE 4-PIPE

FAN COIL UNIT ABOVE SECOND GYPSUM BOARD CEILING. ROUTE SUPPLY AND

RETURN DUCTWORK DOWN THROUGH GYP CEILING TO LAY-IN CEILING GRILLES

AS SHOWN. This is typical for all FCU’s. Please review and advise.

ANSWER: FCU will be rotated/reoriented to provide better access from main catwalk. Revised drawings will be provided.

8. QUESTION: On page MH102, FCU-1-01 does not have any return duct. Is it pulling return air from above the ceiling?

ANSWER: Return duct is to be provided to ceiling mounted grille in lobby. Revised drawing will be provided.

9. QUESTION: On page MH102, FCU-1-14 the duct sizes aren’t shown before and after the Barometric Damper and before the end of the plenum. Please advise.

ANSWER: Duct sizes will be added. Revised drawing will be provided.

10. QUESTION: The condensate drains routing and sizes aren’t shown for the FCU’s. Please provide.

ANSWER: Condensate drains will be added to plans. Revised dwg(s) will be provided.

11. QUESTION: Plan sheet MP105, MP106, MP107, and MP108 show the general routing of the piping but don’t show all the branch lines. Plan Sheet M-801 and Plan sheet M-802 P&ID show all the branch lines with sizing; we need a drawing that shows a minimum of all branches to the equipment on a drawing that is to scale. Please provide.

ANSWER: Continuations are found on MP101 thru MP104. Revised drawings will be provided for clarification.

12. QUESTION: Is there a weight that can be provided for each type of furniture?

ANSWER: No.

13. QUESTION: The contract documents doesn’t have a window schedule provided. We need a window schedule for the sizes of the blinds. Please provide.

ANSWER: Typical exterior windows are 4'-0"w x 6'-0"h. North entry gable windows are 4'-0"w x 4'-0"h. Contractor must field verify all window sizes and coordinate such that windows receiving a shade are completely covered.

14. QUESTION: Does this project call for debris and dust partitions? The specifications indicate a potential fire marshal review, So I wanted to inquire about this one because it has UL-723S or FM-4652 compliant regulations. Please clarify.

ANSWER: The only references to UL 723S and FM 4652 are within the contract documents and relate to verifying that materials meet the required flame spread and smoke development performance. Beyond these performance criteria, we are not finding any specification language that would otherwise trigger a requirement for these standards.

Typically, dust and debris partitions fall under project phasing and sequencing; however, all phasing requirements for the project were removed during design. As a result, DOR is unsure what additional requirement or interpretation this question may be referencing.

15. QUESTION: On plan sheet A-501, Detail D1, calls for the ACT ceiling grid to be 15/16”.

On plan sheet I-602, Finish Legend, ACG-1 calls for the ceiling grid to be 9/16”. Please review and clarify which is to be used. 9/16” grid is significantly more expensive and not typically used on the base.

ANSWER: Use 15/16" ACT ceiling grid per detail.

16. QUESTION: I want to expand on a previously asked question in regard to the existing Fire Rated sub-ceiling remaining in place. We feel that it needs to be removed and replaced in order to effectively perform the scope of work as far as cost, safety, and accessibility. We don’t see a way to remove and reinstall all the duct, equipment, electrical, controls, steel, and catwalk without removing the sub ceiling. (The spacing of the trusses is 5’ with conduit and piping attached to the trusses.) The work needs to be performed off of lifts. Please review and advise.

ANSWER: Removal and replacement of ceiling is acceptable as long as work does not result in a contract modification after contract award.

17. QUESTION: Basis of Design indicates fiberglass for both Domestic Cold and Hot, but we definitely prefer to have Section 23 07 00 Table 2, for estimates because Domestic Cold requirements can vary drastically. There is also nothing on mechanical piping in the specification or basis of design. We would like to know if we can use elastomeric for chilled water and fiberglass for heating hot water.

ANSWER: Do not specify or permit mineral fiber on pipes cooler than 70F. Cellular glass, polystyrene (8.29.14), or polyisocyanurate is required on chilled water pipes and domestic cold water. (1.25.10) Allow flexible Unicellular when rigid insulation is not practical, such as small refrigerant lines sets, and tight piping. (8.29.14)

Use rigid insulation on all pipes subject to being stepped on or damaged.

18. QUESTION: Please see referenced information below located on section SECTION 05 30 00 Page 4:

"Equipment and material must be listed or approved. Listed or approved, as used in this section, means listed, labeled or approved by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) such as UL Fire Prot Dir or FM APP GUIDE. The omission of these terms under the description of any item of equipment described must not be construed as waiving this requirement. All listings or approvals by testing laboratories must be from an existing ANSI or UL published standard. The recommended practices stated in the manufacturer's literature or documentation must be considered as mandatory requirements."

ANSWER: The paragraph quoted as part being part of section 05 30 00 is not part of that spec section. It is part of sections 21 13 13 para 1.4.3 and 28 31 76 para 1.9.3. both of which are regulatory requirements paragraphs in FPE spec sections. It is unclear what is being asked here.

19. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
