Geotechnical

Earthwork

Requirement s Part 3, Chapter 3

Based on the RFP documents for the project, we understand the requirements for structural fill are liquid limits less than 30, plasticity index less than

6, and a percent finer than the #200 sieve of less than 20 percent. The RFP document states that import fill is to meet this requirement and that the on-site soil is not suitable for use as structural fill.

The lab data provided in the RFP geotechnical reported performed by AMEC Foster Wheeler

Environment & Infrastructure indicates a majority of the near surface soils at boring locations B-3 through B-18 and BMP-2 (the project site) meets the requirements for structural fill and are designated as soil types SP, SP-SM, and SM.

Provided the soils are tested and meet the requirements of structural fill, can the on-site soils that are consistent with the soils encountered in the

RFP geotechnical report be re-used as structural fill?
